New Trailer for Arc of Alchemist

30th August, 2019 – The key to save humanity is within reach, but what will it take to obtain it? The desertfilled RPG world of Arc of Alchemist™ will arrive physically and digitally in Europe in early 2020.

Check out the new preview trailer where Quinn and her band of allies must traverse through the endless desert filled with puzzles and a barrage of mechanical enemies. Upgrade the party with the Base system and coordinate your party formations to your own playing style.

Story

Enter the desert in search of the key to save humanity – the Great Power. Quinn Bravesford, for the sake of her kingdom, leads her soldiers into battle against a swath of enemy nations. One year, the king declared that he would send a large-scale investigation team to the Desert of Beginnings.

And so, Quinn was selected to captain this mission. Quinn gazes at the ancient alchemic device, the Lunagear, within her hand. According to the legends of yore, once the Lunagear is equipped with the four Orbs, it will unlock the Great Power that will save humanity. Only one Orb resides in Quinn's Lunagear. Collecting the four Orbs for the Lunagear, however, is a mere legend.

With the threat of dangerous creatures and Machine Dolls wandering the desert, one of the enemy nations, the Principality of Neuhaven, has dispatched their military in search of the Great Power. Now, Quinn and her band of allies must fight against the Principality of Neuhaven in hopes to find the Great Power and save humanity. Quinn steels herself, but even so, she can't help but doubt the existence of the Great Power…

Key Features

  • Four Orbs to Rule Them All – The Lunagear is a powerful tool that uses Orbs that correspond to each of the four elements: Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth. Use all four Orbs to solve puzzles, manipulate organic and mechanical environments to open new pathways, and blast enemies with powerful elemental attacks!
  • Based Blessings – The Base is a safe haven for players to rest and prepare for their journey. Construct your base from the ground up and build facilities to enhance your party. Players can set up Troop Formations, purchase useful gear and items, and build facilities to strengthen attacks and abilities. Tailor your base to your party needs!
  • Seamless Battles – At a moment’s notice, players will find themselves solving mechanical puzzles and facing giant mechanical monsters. Every grain of sand you step on can either lead players to a new path or casualty, so watch your step!
  • Formation is Key – Mix and match your party member classes and arrange your party's formation to help players face any formidable foe. Carefully coordinate and make sure to prepare before exploring!

Gloomhaven Releases in Early Access with Launch Trailer!

PARIS - July 17, 2019 - Asmodee Digital is kicking off Early Access for Gloomhaven today. The Tactical RPG game is available for $24.99 during Early Access.

The launch trailer showcases two of the four mercenaries available at the beginning of the Early Access as they face a Night Demon. Or so they thought… As players will experience in the dark fantasy world of Gloomhaven, “from gloom only greed & death emerge.”

“We’re absolutely thrilled to have the privilege of bringing Gloomhaven to Steam. It’s one of the most acclaimed board games and is a perfect addition to our digital catalogue,” said Pierre Ortolan, CEO of Asmodee Digital. “We're working hand-in-hand with Flaming Fowl Studios, a talented studio whose vast experience includes the Fables series, and the original board game designer, Isaac Childres. Paired with our board game DNA and digital expertise, we are confident that Gloomhaven’s Early Access will allow us to build, together with the players, the best Tactical RPG experience for the full release.”

Gloomhaven, from Board Game to Digital: The Masterpiece of Tactical RPG

As a board game, Gloomhaven has raised $4.4 million on Kickstarter thanks to more than 45,000 backers. Designed by Isaac Childres, the Gloomhaven board game has been acclaimed by both players and critics alike, achieving the highest rating on BoardGameGeek and winning six Golden Geek awards, including “Board Game of the Year” in 2017.

The digital adaptation, developed by Flaming Fowl Studios, allows players to play as a squad of two to four mercenaries, in a world of darkness and trials. Its legendary unforgiving difficulty rewards only the sharpest strategic minds. Bringing the lore, game mechanics and identity of the beloved board game into the digital era, Gloomhaven will leverage all the benefits of the PC platform.

At the start of Early Access, players are able to experience a new exclusive Adventure Mode based on roguelike mechanics, combining both turn-based combat and exploration, with four mercenaries available at the start. The roster of characters, enemies and bosses, each including their own abilities, will expand on a regular basis during Early Access, along with additional environments, quests, items and more.

Players are able to experience the unforgiving world of Gloomhaven through different difficulty levels, delivering an optimal experience for beginners while allowing experts to use the original board game settings. The full Campaign from the original board game, along with the multiplayer Coop mode, will be available when the full game is launched.

The price of the game during Early Access won’t increase due to the additional features and content added during its development. Gloomhaven’s Early Access will be cheaper than its full launch, as the latter will offer more features and content.

Players who purchased the game during Early Access will not be charged extra at full release, when the game will be priced higher, thus being rewarded for joining Gloomhaven earlier and contributing to the game’s success.

Nightcrawler Scoundrel, the first of the four free skins for the Early Access starting mercenaries is also released today. All skins will be unlockable through challenges that will be announced at a later date, and will be made available for free to all Early Access purchasers. The skins are cosmetic-only, allowing players to select a new appearance during character selection.

Isaac Childres, designer of the original board game, has been closely involved in the development and design of the digital adaptation, with every artistic and design choice personally vetted by him.

Early Access: Starting-Point of a Community Journey

The team at Asmodee Digital are huge fans of the original board game and are striving to offer the best digital Gloomhaven experience possible. To this end, the game will first start in Early Access, allowing our team to fine-tune and improve the game based on players’ feedback. Working together with the community, the team is confident the digital Gloomhaven experience will do justice to the masterpiece board game we all love.

The team is aware that this is just the beginning of a journey, hand-in-hand with the Gloomhaven community, and not the final product. Content and features will be added on a regular basis, new bugs will be solved as they are discovered. At the start of the Early Access, the initial experience will appeal mostly to players with Tactical RPG experience, or those familiar with the original board game. The onboarding phase will be much smoother later in the Early Access phase, as the team aims to welcome more and more people to discover and enjoy the depth of Gloomhaven’s gameplay, without compromising the original experience.

The team has strong ambitions for the digital Gloomhaven game. The included roadmap gives an overview of what is planned. This is of course indicative, as the community feedback will play a key role in the game’s development during Early Access and the team has several nice surprises planned for the future.

Gloomhaven starts its Early Access on July 17th and is available for $24.99. For more information about the game, feel free to visit Steam.

The Official Gloomhaven Discord server is available here.

New Darksburg Trailer from Shiro Games!

Darksburg, the upcoming cooperative survival action game from indie French studio Shiro Games of Evoland and Northgard fame, debuts its PvP mode featuring humans versus zombies today, ahead of its playable debut at Gamescom, Aug. 21-24, 2019 in Cologne, Germany.

The new trailer shows how players can take on the role of powerful zombies, the Revenants, and how each class uses their unique abilities and powers to wreak havoc on the pesky humans trying to save the medieval town of Darksburg.

Shiro Games are now booking appointments for journalists to join a cooperative play session of Darksburg at the event in Cologne. If you are interested in checking out the game at Gamescom 2019, please let us know as soon as possible with your preferred appointment times and contact details.

In Darksburg, a top-down cooperative multiplayer game for PC, players can either choose to rid the titular medieval town of Darksburg of the waves of undead that plague it or team up as zombies to oppose the filthy humans in completing their hopeless mission. Four players can team up to play against the computer, or against four other players in a fast-paced PvP game.

Darksburg features a roster of colorful characters to choose from, each featuring a unique set of skills and backgrounds, from the compassionate (but not overly so) Sister Abigail and the escaped werewolf (and man's best friend) Varag to the powerful zombie Revenants such as incendiary Witch or the hulking Brute. Teamwork and great reflexes will be the key to survival.

Shiro Games will also present several interesting new projects related to their popular Viking strategy game Northgard at Gamescom, including the upcoming console version, new details on the next major expansion, as well as a (soon to be unveiled) secret game. Let us know if you want to check out these games as well!

Follow the latest news about Darksburg and Northgard via Shiro Games’ Twitter.
