• Isekai Villain - PS5 Review

Hello everyone and welcome to the next instalment of KEMCO RPG: Isekai Villain! This time we get to witness the tale of a regular dude who gets transported into his favourite webnovel, but as a villain mob character!

  • Minos - PC (Steam) Review

The tower defense genre is one that doesn't tend to innovate much with static maps, various traps, and its simple to grasp gameplay loops. At least, that is until Minos with a mighty laugh to prove you wrong.

  • The Remake of the End of the Greatest RPG of All Time - PC Review

If you are here reading this, it means one of two things: ‘a’ you saw an extremely long weird game title and were wondering what it actually was, or ‘b’ you’re interested in a puzzle solving meta JRPG stylized adventure. Either way, let’s take a look into “The Remake of the End of the Greatest RPG of all Time”.

  • Volontes - Nintendo Switch Review

Have you ever grown up feeling like you don't belong? For our Heroine, that's the feeling she lives with everyday in her small farming village. But it's not her only secret...

  • Medieval Crafter: Blacksmith - PC Review

Medieval Crafter: Blacksmith, to me, is a relaxing simulation game until you get to the time-management portion of it. I've had the pleasure of actually making a part for my sewing machine at a friend's forge which this game brought back some fond memories.

  • Dread Delusion - Xbox Series X|S Review

Today we’re looking at what has rapidly become an absolute favorite in the open-world RPG genre for me. An interesting story, memorable NPCs, stunning visuals, and a setting absolutely dripping with flavor, Dread Delusion sets its tone immediately and sticks with it.

  • People of Note - PS5 Review

...I love music in general. After playing the People of Note demo, I knew I had to play the full game.

  • Nitro Gen Omega - PS5 Review

Nitro Gen Omega may be one of the weirdest experiences that I've ever sat down to. Having lost the war to the AI and its robot armies, humanity is on the brink of extinction.

  • EA Sports UFC 6 - PlayStation 5 Review

EA Sports UFC 6 is one of those titles that felt almost immediately comfortable and familiar in my hands, but with enough updates and nuanced changes to make it interest after having taking a few years off from the series.

  • Net.Attack() - PC Review

Net.Attack() is dangerously fun. From thinking that I could dip my toe into the tutorial during a lunch break to having put more hours into the game on my first day with it than I did my full-time job, Net.Attack() smoothly pulled me into a ‘just one more level’ mindset.

This month has been a good one with various titles from the remade Bulletstorm to first looks at Indie titles such as Gataela. We've also had epic titles with Nick scoring Persona 5 with a 10/10 and Atelier Firis coming in not far behind with its own 9/10. Week in Review - April 17th to 21st

Welcome back to the weekend and this Week's in Review!

Monday started off with a contender for my Games of the Year with Atelier Firis the Alchemist and the Mysterious Journey on the PS4. Considering that this is the second entry into the current trilogy I can only wonder what Gust are going to pull off for the finale.

"Atelier Firis: The Alchemist and the Mysterious Journey has been a great next step for the Atelier series. Yes the "dreaded time limit" made a return but it added a bit of flavour instead of adding stress and worry about not being able to finish the experience the first time around."
- Pierre-Yves

Looking back it looks like I've hogged the spotlight a little bit. Tuesday had my first go at The Banner Saga for the Xbox. I loved it and my time with the second is coming up next week!

"The Banner Saga is a well crafted and complex experience that had me rooted from start to finish."
- Pierre-Yves

Because it can't be all about me three days in a row Wednesday saw Richard's views on the new retro styled Shoot 'Em Up Captain Kaon for the PC.

"KHHHAAANNNN!!!! Or at least that was my first thought upon seeing the title "Captain Kaon"."
- Richard

I never got around to playing Bulletstorm when it originally launched back on the PS3 and the 360. Now seemed like a good as a time as any to jump into the revamped Full Clip Edition. I'll be honestly that I needed that dose of over the top ridiculousness with some of the heavier and serious titles that I've played recently.

"Bulletstorm is back for more foul-mouthed - and at times creative linguistic hilarity - with even more creative ways of taking out your enemies."
- Pierre-Yves

Yesterday saw our latest Memorable Music which is always a pleasure. Thanks for the tracks Hamza!

"We have a very PC-heavy dose of Memorable Music in Gaming this time around. However, there is one standout console title that racing fans are also sure to immediately recognize."
- Hamza

Week in Review - April 10th to 14th

Welcome back to the weekend and this Week's in Review!

We started monday off with We are the Dwarves. It has the potential with some edits to become even better or at a worst case make a stellar sequel. I'm hopeful!

"We are the Dwarves is the perfect example of a game that has all the elements to be something amazing but sadly falls short of that goal and not for a lack of trying. Unfortunately there were some of the elements that simply didn't work together but on their own with a different approach would have worked splendidly."
- PY

Tuesday saw something that we really don't see often around CGR. A Perfect, yes capital P, Perfect score. Needless to say that Nick loved his time with Persona 5.

" Jed: 'I love this game as much as Morgana loves cuddling up against treasure' "
- From Nick's Review

Wednesday saw a lower key release but in no way was it any less than the previous day. A Rose in the Twilight is a stellar experience and anyone with a Vita, or if you don't have one a PC, should pick this up if they love both Puzzles and works of art.

"This is not really something to be played outside in the middle of a sunny day but more for rainy days or as the day turns to night in order to truly appreciate how all the elements come together. It really is a work of art."
- PY

Thursday Nick broke out his VR headset with Tethered. It really sounds like something that those with VR headsets should check out.

"There are a few quibbles that hold this strategy game back from greatness, but for virtual reality fans, the good news is: this is an honest to goodness game, and it is a lot of fun as well."
- Nick

Yesterday, the start of the long weekend, the end of the week, the magical Friday saw our review on the latest entry into the Mass Effect series with Andromeda. With the love / hate relationship that this game has going for it, check out what Nick had to say!

"... despite its flaws, there is a perfectly solid, enjoyable game here. It might not live up to its namesake completely, but the foundation is here for better things from Bioware in future Mass Effect offerings"
- Nick

Finally! don't forget to check out our contest for your own copy of War for the Overworld!

Week in Review - April 3rd to 7th

Welcome back to the weekend and this Week's in Review!

For something brand new, Sunday saw the first release of our Sunday Bites. These impressions will overtime cover small demos from currently in development titles either from the Developers themselves or from possible Kickstarter or Greenlight campaigns. With that, here's the first Sunday Bites with Tumbling Apart

"In twenty minutes I went through a roller coaster of emotions that only scratch what looks to be the surface of Tumbling Apart. I'm already hooked though and I still don't know what's under the hood."
- PY

Monday started off with our game releases for the month of April and there are some good ones!

Tuesday we saw the second of NIS America's Touhou releases with Genso Wanderer on the PS4

"Genso Wanderer is a great addition to the franchise, with lovely character, background and sprite visuals and music, solid core gameplay, and endearing character interactions. "

- Richard

Wednesday saw my thoughts of Omega Force and Tecmo Koei's Toukiden 2 which is both a stellar follow up of the original and a great possible direction for the style of gaming as it works very well in an open world environment.

"Having originally released for the Vita it wasn't long before it saw both PS4 and the PC releases after having found success as a "Monster Hunter Clone". That simple status however is now no longer valid, as Toukiden 2 just set a new bar for the series with an open world that fans of the genre have only dreamed of."
- Pierre-Yves

Because there seriously can never be enough NIS America titles, Thursday saw our review of Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy on the PC

"Overall, Operation Abyss is a great addition to the dungeon crawling experience, and is definitely something to pick up, especially if you never picked it up for the Vita."
- Richard

Finally on Friday Nick sat down to Chaos Code: New Sign of Catastrophe by Arc System Works

"While Ark System Works is well-known for their fast, slick, polished fighting games like Guilty Gear and BlazBlue, this is a simpler title made by FK Digital. It is a solid enough outing, with gameplay that is easy to pick up..."
- Nick
