It is hard to believe we have done twenty five of these articles so far, but here we are. Given the recent release of the popular game Dark Souls III, I thought we would make this edition of Memorable Music in Gaming all about the Soulsborne (as Chris calls them) games. Let's go ahead and tackle these from newest to oldest.

Dark Souls III - Xbox One Review
April 15, 2016Bandai Namco Entertainment, CGRreview, Dark Souls III, From Software, Microsoft Xbox One, review
Dark Souls III is a combination of different games, pulling influence from earlier the earlier Souls and Bloodborne games for inspiration and lessons learned. To that end, Dark Souls III is a complex, challenging game that continues to reward perseverance and punishes those unwilling to adapt to its distinct style of play. Ultimately it is a rewarding title that fans of the series will enjoy, though I did come away with the distinct impression that it was less its own game and more a culmination of the prior ones.
Dark Souls III - PC Review
Death.
This is generally one's first thought when it comes to the Souls series. Dark Souls 3 is no different. To start, you wake up from a coffin and explore your starting zone. Going through it, you will learn the controls and discover how much enemies can and will hurt you. Depending on which path you take, you will find out just how much this game wants you dead. If you have never played a Souls game before, each of these titles is a gauntlet of enemies, with a struggle to get to the next bonfire - your safe haven. The first thought to a new player in the series would probably be something along the lines of “This is unfair”. It may seem like that at first, but as you improve and learn, you will realize just how much you can do to tip the scales in your favor.
Dark Souls III - Play Time
We have a fun set of videos for you. While we cannot post a scored review for Dark Souls III until next week, we have been able to spend plenty of time with the game previewing it on both PC and PlayStation 4. Instead of writing our thoughts up twice, we thought instead we would show some video footage. We have just under an hour to share today, with a second part coming Monday.
New Assets for Dark Souls III
This is one of those few titles that just about everyone on the team is excited to play - and we have some new assets to share too.
Latest Dark Souls III trailer is really helping to set the mood
Admittedly, I am a huge fan of this series. Not necessarily for its brutal difficulty, though I am always up for the challenge. But I love the dark, moody atmosphere. And on that front, this new trailer really helps to set that tone.
Dark Souls III Digital Pre-Orders Now Live for Xbox One, Steam and PlayStation 4
To say Dark Souls III is one of our most anticipated games of 2016 would probably be selling it short. Several of us gleefully subject ourselves to the series time and again and are anxiously looking forward to the upcoming release.
Dark Souls III has a release date and more
At this stage of the game, I don't think the Dark Souls titles need a whole lot (or really, any) introduction. We have been huge fans since the original Demon's Souls and that has not changed over the last couple of excellent Dark Souls releases. Let's just say - we're excited for this.
Dark Souls III Gameplay Trailer
Around here, Dark Souls is a very popular thing. Any news is good news - and there are several of us anxiously awaiting the next release.
