It’s that time of the year again – where I revisit what’s arguably my favorite video game franchise. EA Sports Madden NFL 27 returns to the field with its latest batch of changes, some minor and others more notable.
In the early 90s, Coktel Vision (which later became Sierra On-Line) released a quirky point and click adventure game titled Gobliiins which had players bouncing between three different Goblins to find a cure for good King Angoulafre.

I enjoy simulation-type games, and I enjoyed the original release of House Flipper, but I never got around to getting the DLC. When the remastered version of the game was released, I figured it would be the best way to experience the DLC while checking out how the base game was upgraded.
“A claustrophobic ocean liner, relentless cultists, and horrific monstrosities. Inspired by classic survival horror like Resident Evil, gather clues, solve puzzles, and uncover the truth. Where fanaticism and salvation collide, you must make choices beyond mere survival.”
Our story begins in Akihabra, Tokyo Japan. The protagonist Okarin… Or rather Rintaro Okabe, (Voiced by Mamoru Minyano) is a recent high school graduate who rents an apartment with his best friend and resident computer hacker, Itaru ‘Daru’ Hashida (Voiced by Tomokazu Seki) during the summer of 2010.
August 5, 2026 | Lost Token and publisher Dionous Games have announced that Theropods, the wordless, hand-drawn point-and-click adventure, will launch on August 20th on Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store. To mark the announcement, a new release date trailer is out now.
Theropods is a prehistoric adventure with a sci-fi twist. A young hunter sets out to free her tribe from the barbarians who took them. On the way she finds a stranded spaceman with a broken pod and a reason to head the same direction, told entirely without dialogue, subtitles or text.
Theropods is a classic point-and-click adventure built around visual logic. There are no dialogue trees, no walls of text, no subtitles. The world itself is the puzzle. Players watch how creatures behave, how characters react and how each scene shifts as they poke, prod and experiment their way through it. Instead of fighting through danger, you solve your way through it, distracting predators, avoiding enemies and finding clever routes past situations too deadly to face head-on.
The game began life as a small Flash project in a 2015 game jam. Players connected with it, so the team turned it into a full adventure, funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign and built over six years of frame-by-frame animation. Every character, dinosaur and environment is hand-drawn frame by frame, then handed to the pixel artists to color and convert. The result is an expressive, cinematic world that speaks entirely through movement, gesture and sound.
“Theropods took ten years to make, and honestly, the game it became is exactly why it took that long,” said Kostas Skiftas and Sarah Duffield-Harding, co-founders of Lost Token. “We could have shipped the little 2015 jam version and moved on. Instead we kept rebuilding it until it was the wordless adventure we always wanted it to be. That conviction was the whole point.”
Despite containing no dialogue, subtitles or on-screen text, Theropods supports 103 languages at launch, covering menus and interface across every major market.
Key Features
Wordless storytelling. No dialogue, no subtitles, just animation, sound and gesture.
Hand-drawn pixel art. Animated frame by frame, then pixel-converted.
A prehistoric world with a sci-fi twist. Dinosaurs, barbarians and a mystery from the stars.
Think, don't fight. Every predator is a problem to solve. Outsmart predators instead of fighting them.
An unlikely friendship. A story of bravery, trust and survival.
A striking soundtrack. Tribal rhythms blended with eerie sci-fi synths.
Theropods launches for PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store) on August 20th. Wishlist now and follow the team for more reveals ahead of launch.

June 8, 2026 | Indie studio Lost Token and publisher Dionous Games today revealed a new trailer for Theropods, the hand-animated point-and-click adventure arriving on Steam this July.
The new trailer offers the deepest look yet at the game’s puzzles, pixel-art world and the unlikely friendship at its heart. After six years in development and a successful Kickstarter campaign, Theropods is heading toward its July 23, 2026, release on PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store).
Theropods is a classic point-and-click adventure built around visual logic: no dialogue, no subtitles, no text walls. The world itself is the puzzle. Watch how creatures behave, how characters react and how each scene shifts as you poke, prod and experiment your way through it.
Players guide a young hunter across a vivid prehistoric world of jungles, valleys, canyons, caves and wild dinosaur territory. Every screen hides a problem to unpick: a sleeping predator, a guarded passage, a curious creature with an exploitable habit. Every object, animal and gesture might be the key.
It’s a game of brains over brawn. Instead of fighting your way through danger, you solve your way through it. Distract hungry dinosaurs, slip past bloodthirsty barbarians, trigger reactions in the environment and find clever ways out of situations too deadly to face head-on.
A glowing stone falls from the sky into a young hunter’s village. Its arrival draws a bloodthirsty tribe that attacks the settlement and enslaves her people. Escaping into the jungle, she discovers the stone’s true origin: a stranded spaceman whose damaged pod depends on it. Together, this unlikely pair must cross a hostile prehistoric world to free her tribe and send him home, told entirely through animation, gesture and sound.
