Presenting Frostpunk 2 and The Invincible from the PC Gaming Show!

Warsaw, Poland - June 11, 2023 — 11 bit studios have released brand new trailers today for Frostpunk 2—the highly-anticipated society survival sequel—and The Invincible—an adventure based on the sci-fi novel by Stanislaw Lem of the same name and developed by Starward Industries—as part of today’s PC Gaming Show.
The City Must Not Fall in Frostpunk 2
Accompanied by mercifully rhythmic strokes of the hammer, 11 bit studios is thrilled to announce that Frostpunk 2, the sequel to award-winning, bestselling city-builder, Frostpunk, will launch on PC in 2024.Thirty years have passed since the vicious storm that concluded the first chapter of humankind's survival story in Frostpunk. The City, settled around the Generator and its life-giving warmth, grew and progressed as the years ticked on. Years of whiteouts have changed the world, giving it a clean slate with which to write a new post-apocalyptic part of its story. Despite the noose of oppression again starting to tighten on a society that is struggling for life-preserving supplies—and increasingly bothered by inner squabbles after recent events—the world is once again facing an era of possibly prolific expansion. Most notably, however, people changed. And once they feel like they’ve tamed the frost, and the bonding survival instinct has faded, their human nature will come into play, driven by ambition that could spiral The City into the fall.

…but The City Must Not Fall

“Frostpunk 2 is still a game about the City and its society,” states Jakub Stokalski, game Co-Director and Design Director at 11 bit studios“But this time the inner turmoils, sparked by rising social differences, mean that players will be facing new kinds of threats that are beyond the bare survival from the first game. We still use that postapocalyptic, frozen setup, to tell a meaningful story about human ambition, societies striving for their ideas, and the consequences of hard decisions which are not always respected by everyone. Because ultimately, what can end us is not nature itself - it's human nature.”

11 bit studios also gave PC Gaming Show viewers a brand new peek into the story of The Invincible, an eagerly anticipated title from their publishing division currently in development by Starward Industries. The narrative-focused hard sci-fi adventure touches on humankind's unbridled ambition and the unshaken belief that what we find, name, and categorize becomes ours in an instant. This new trailer focuses on the game’s main character Yasna, her motivations, and her interest in science over conquest. Her natural curiosity will soon lead her to rethink humanity’s ambitions and biases on Regis III.

“Yasna isn’t terrified by the cosmos, but rather amazed by the vision of its undiscovered phenomena. Her training as an astrobiologist helps her handle stress and maintain focus when she wakes up on the unknown planet without her crew and with holes in her memories,” specifies Magdalena Kucenty, Narrative Designer at Starward Industries“In the beginning, her professionalism and natural curiosity push her forward to look for answers and to successfully complete her mission. However, her attitude slowly changes throughout the game, as she is faced with morally difficult decisions and the realization that not everything, everywhere is for us”.
The Invincible will be released this year on PCXbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.During the upcoming 11 bit studios publisher sale on Steam (June 8-19) and also during Steam Next Fest (June 19-26) you’ll be able to try two different demo versions of The Invincible. The first demo will be the same as the one that was previously available for the public in May, and the second - a new part of the game called “Convoy”.
