The original Outlast was effective for a variety of reasons, from its excellent use of lighting and sound design to a genuinely creepy setting and story. The sequel title tries to ramp things up by making the story even more twisted, and the overall experience is still a solid one, if it has not really evolved much from its predecessor.

Outlast 2 trailer and information
Just because Halloween is over, don't think we aren't still keeping our eye out for creepy games in the future. One such title is the recently announced Outlast 2. We had a chance to play both the original game and its DLC last year, and we will be curious to see if Outlast 2 can improve on the original formula.
Outlast: Whistleblower - PS4 Review
When Outlast first came out for the PlayStation 4, we thought it was a very good game. It created a thick, tense atmosphere similar to other horror games of late, including the similar but inferior Daylight. The scripted scares in Outlast are present in Whistleblower, which tells events before and after the previous installment, wrapping up a few loose ends along the way.
Outlast - PlayStation 4 Review
Outlast was out on PC well before it came to the PlayStation 4, but it is great to see that this atmospheric horror game still holds up well on the console platform. You assume the role of a journalist named Miles Upshur, who has been given a vague lead about bad things happening instead of Mount Massive Asylum.
