Digital Extremes Unveils Next Expansion Warframe: The Old Peace Along with Cosmetic Goodies

LONDON, ONTARIO – July 19, 2025 | Digital Extremes celebrated 10 years of TennoCon with a milestone event today attended by thousands of guests and streamed live to millions of fans around the world. Join 85+ million other players and embark on the road ahead for Warframe, starting with the full gameplay reveal of The Old Peace, the next major Quest and Narrative Chapter launching for free on all platforms this year, packaged with a new Side Story, The Devil's Triad, featuring a devil-themed Warframe and new Protoframes. Keep the stars in sight and pave the way for the 2026 Narrative Chapter, Tau, also teased in TennoCon’s finale.

Other reveals included a look at Caliban Prime Access coming soon, an untitled Fall update introducing a new player Mod tutorial Quest, The Teacher, as well as a Fall closed beta for Warframe on Android. Digital Extremes also unveiled that Warframe is arriving on the tabletop RPG scene with Warframe x Starfinder: Operation Orias in partnership with Paizo and offered another peek at the Valkyr Heirloom Collection, launching July 21.
"Ten years of TennoCon is such a mind-boggling thing to say out loud,” said Rebecca Ford, Creative Director of Warframe. “When we first started this celebration event back in 2016, we had no idea it would grow to what it is today. Our community is everything to us; we wouldn’t be here without them. To be able to continue TennoCon and bring together more players in person from around the world and treat them to the latest announcements, hijinks, and simply celebrate the world of Warframe is a privilege we don’t take for granted. The 10th TennoCon has been a deeply special, unforgettable journey. We want to thank our community to Tau and back for joining us on this monumental milestone. See you all next year!”

Notable reveals made during Digital Extremes’ annual community celebration include:

THE OLD PEACE (2025): To take hold of the future, you must awaken the past in Warframe’s next major Narrative Chapter. Revisit a period of tenuous peace between the Sentients and Orokin while uncovering notable features arriving:

Main Quest, The Old Peace: Think far back and remember the long-forgotten tale of Tau, a childhood Sentient friend named Adis, as well as the war-scarring conflict between the Orokin, their creations, and a coalition of Dax Anarch Warriors upon the Perita moon.

Side Story, The Devil's Triad: Welcome a new trio of characters – Father Lyon Allard (Protoframe of Harrow), Marie Leroux (Protoframe of Wisp), and Uriel (the new devil-themed Warframe) – in cinematic style within a Side Story, arriving alongside The Old Peace.

New Enemy Faction: Walk a fragile line during a tumultuous moment of harmony and discover who is friend and foe. What starts as a rebellion of Dax Anarchs could cause alliances to cascade and put into question how deep this Old Peace really went.

Operator Remaster: Gaze upon the Operator’s graphically remastered character models and cosmetic assets to improve their visual fidelity, including new facial animations, and aligning with Warframe’s latest assets. TennoCon attendees caught the first glimpse of this remaster in The Old Peace gameplay reveal.

Tauron Focus Expansion: Study up for the upcoming Focus expansion, introducing a new ultimate ability for the Operator. More details to come around this feature expansion in future Devstreams.

Original Song Released Today: Remember the sorrow of our forgotten Sentient childhood friend, Adis, with his heartfelt song, 'Lullaby of the Manifold,' now on YouTube. This somber, hauntingly beautiful track was first heard in The Old Peace gameplay reveal and will be available on most major music streaming platforms on July 21.

VALKYR HEIRLOOM COSMETIC (JULY 21, 2025): Valkyr, the tormented experiment, aims to make witnesses go berserk hot off the heels of her recent gameplay rework with a new Heirloom Collection available July 21 in collaboration with community artist Pertti Bahaa.

WARFRAME X STARFINDER TABLETOP COLLAB (OCTOBER 2025): In partnership with acclaimed tabletop RPG developer Paizo, Warframe x Starfinder: Operation Orias will bring the surreal sci-fi world of Warframe to tabletops everywhere this October. Eager fans will have the opportunity to learn more information and get a small slice of the adventure at GenCon from the Paizo booth (July 31 - Aug. 3 in Indianapolis, IN). For more information, including purchase details for digital and physical versions, please see the dedicated webpage on Paizo’s website.

UNTITLED FALL UPDATE (FALL 2025): Digital Extremes continues its commitment to the new player experience in Warframe, with a new Mod tutorial Quest, The Teacher, developed in collaboration with Sumo Digital. The 62nd Warframe, a long-awaited Oberon rework, a fresh Lavos deluxe skin, among other quality-of-life improvements, arrive with this update. Tune into the September Devstream for more information.

ANDROID CLOSED BETA (FALL 2025): Equip your cellular devices and prepare for the upcoming closed beta for Warframe on Android this Fall. Sign up for the closed beta playtest now via the Warframe on Android webpage. More info on the full launch on compatible Android devices will be available later this year.

CALIBAN PRIME ACCESS (COMING SOON): Featured in TennoCon’s gameplay demo trapped in stasis, Caliban Prime arrives soon before The Old Peace launches. Relive the glorious might and gold-trim style of the Orokin Empire alongside new Prime weapons and accessories later this year.

TAU (2026): The Old Peace propels Warframe’s current “Void War” story arc into full speed, setting the stage for the monumental Tau Narrative Chapter to explore in 2026.

Celebrate Canada Day with Canadian Game Developers!

July 1st, 2025

It’s Canada Day today and we at Chalgyr thought it’d be a great idea to feature a couple of existing and upcoming Canadian games for today’s press release. There is no specific order to the games mentioned in this post, so without further ado, let’s talk in maple syrup and amazing poutine. We may even throw in some Beavertails, because they’re just soo good.

Over the years we’ve seen some amazing games that have been developed by Canadian companies. Some of my personal favourites are games like Mages of Mystralia which I had the stellar fortune to write a review for a different site; although one of our fantastic colleagues wrote a fabulous review here on CGR. Find that review here: https://www.chalgyr.com/2017/06/mages-of-mystralia-pc-review.html

For those unfamiliar, Mages of Mystralia is an action RPG that is neat because you can customize your own spells to solve puzzles and take out big bads. It’s also special because the legendary Ed Greenwood (creator of several D&D worlds) wrote several aspects of the story for the game! Interested? Check out the Steam page and grab it for 75% off the normal retail price! It’s only $5.49 Canadian right now until the 14th!

Another favourite Canadian Game that is worth it to grab is none other than Spiritfarer: Farewell Edition. This is a single player story based game that is centered around management. It’s a spectacular game released by Thunder Lotus Games and it kicks you in the gut because it is a story about taking people to the spirit world after they have passed. While that may seem a little tough to stomach, the game allows you to tackle death in a positive way. The Farewell Edition of the game can be purchased for $3.89 Canadian, which is 90% off the retail price! Make sure to pick it up before July 10th to get the deal!

For those of you that enjoy space games, another title took over the Twitch directory for a bit is none other than Hardspace: Shipbreaker. This is a sandbox puzzle game designed around breaking down ships. It is a gorgeous looking game that is on sale for 65% off right now. If you missed out, don’t fear because it’s less than $20 Canadian!

I’ve seen a ton of people embrace the idea of daily management. To help with that, you can pick up Spirit City: Lofi Sessions made by Mooncube Games, a Canadian company. The title is centered around management of your personal tasks for the day or week. Your space is highly customizable so that you can create a space that helps you focus on your real life tasks. It even comes with an amazing lofi soundtrack to help you maintain focus. Honestly, Spirit City: Lofi Sessions is worth it to grab if you need a program to keep track of your daily tasks. Get it now for $10.04!

In fact, there are tons of Canadian companies that have released fun and interesting games including Lost Records: Rage & Bloom which was developed by Dontnod Montreal, as well as the ever biggest Canadian shooter Warframe by Digital Extremes which is based out of London, Ontario. However, you may be wondering what games are coming out from Canadian companies that you can set your sights on.

Upcoming Games

I mentioned that one of my favourite games is Mages of Mystralia, so I’m excited to remind readers that a new game in the same world and that is Echoes of Mystralia. It is an Action Adventure game by Borealys Games which builds upon the spell crafting concept that we know and love. The graphics are updated yet familiar, and it looks like it will be a ton of fun to play. I can’t wait for this title to get a release date!

Developer Riyo Games is releasing a title called Threads of Time which is a Turn-based JRPG. The graphics are beautiful and you get to play as couple of different characters and travel through time where you will uncover a plot that may unravel all timelines. It’s a bold concept but also quite interesting, at least it is in my opinion. Feel free to check it out here and perhaps even wishlist it!

Treehouse Games has a beautiful cooperative survival crafting game releasing on August 5th.  It’s called Voyagers of Nera and it requires you to survive in a magical ocean world where deadly monsters and lost spirits linger. When it releases on August 5, it will be in an early access state where players will be able to submit feedback about the game and its features. If you want to sail the high seas and take out various hostile creatures, be sure to check it out. Wishlist it on Steam here:

Final Remarks

This Canada Day, be sure to check out all sorts of titles released or upcoming on Steam. You can click on the Canadian Game Sale banner until July 8th for fantastic titles, or be sure to follow the Canadian Games Dev group to keep an eye on upcoming games!

Digital Extremes Celebrates 11 Years of Warframe at PAX East in March!

LONDON, Ontario - Feb. 23, 2024 - Dante, Digital Extremes’ 56th Warframe, received a full ability showcase in its monthly Devstream today alongside a new mission type reveal,  and more specifics for Warframe Inaros’ rework, among other quality-of-life improvements. Kicking off celebrations for Warframe’s 11th Anniversary, the dev team also detailed plans to celebrate in-person at PAX East next month.

Highlights from the stream include:

Warframe Dante, the master of reality’s pages, summons his own Exalted Weapon, the devastating Tome called Noctua, to replace any currently equipped secondary weapon. Cast Light or Dark Verses to increase allies’ max health or draw blood-slashing needles to inflict Slash Damage on nearby enemies. Inspired by classic MMO casters, the pattern of abilities used changes the spell combo’s ultimate finishing ability, Final Verse; either granting allies their own limited run copies of Noctua or summoning Paragrimms, giant owl-like creatures, to fight alongside you.

Dive into Deep Archimedea, the latest mission type. This is an amalgamation of three different existing mission types that must be played in succession with no breaks. The composition of Deep Archimedea will change every week, offering endless new challenges to overcome for some of the best in-game rewards to date.

Seek out the new Murmur faction enemy, greedy loot goblin Gruzzling, to steal its bountiful bundle of goodies ripe for your taking. Fresh weapons will also be available to grab in the Entrati Disruption mission, ARMATUS: the melee fist weapon, Ruvox, and the secondary arm-cannon, Onos.

The living sandstorm Warframe, Inaros, dusts off a fresh rework to obtain a more engaging passive ability, guaranteed status effect triggers, and overall changes to his base kit. Notable changes include separating the Scarab Armor mechanic into its own ability, replacing Devour with an improved Sandstorm touting faster summoning and movement speeds, and, most notably, granting the Scarab Swarm ultimate a chance to summon sandy friendlies into the fray.

Come join the next Devstream in-person at PAX East to meet the dev team as well as the lead voice of Arthur in the upcoming Warframe: 1999Ben Starr (Final Fantasy XVI). The PAX Edition Devstream will air live on both PAX and Warframe Twitch channels on Friday, March 22 at 3 p.m. ET. There will be more major announcements to look forward to celebrating 11 years of Warframe, including what comes next for the game’s story before things kick back all the way to the ‘90s later this year.

“It's been over five years since we went to a PAX!” said Megan Everett, Community Director. “Celebrating our 11th Anniversary there feels like the perfect way to reconnect with our Tenno again in-person. We are bringing tons of Dante and 1999 info nuggets to share at our panel and great vibes for our sold-out TennoVIP community event.”

For more information and future patch notes on all of the changes planned for the Dante Unbound Update in March 2024, please keep an eye on our official news pagesTwitter/XInstagramYouTube, and Twitch accounts.
