  • House Flipper Remastered Collection - PC Review

I enjoy simulation-type games, and I enjoyed the original release of House Flipper, but I never got around to getting the DLC. When the remastered version of the game was released, I figured it would be the best way to experience the DLC while checking out how the base game was upgraded.

Relive the History of Hollywood in a Game Dev Tycoon Game The Executive Now!

January 30th, 2025 – Aniki Games and Goblinz Publishing are thrilled to announce that The Executive, a Game Dev Tycoon-inspired business simulation set in the cinema industry, will launch on Tuesday, February 11 on PC via Steam and GOG for a base price of US$ 14,99, with a 10% launch discount for two weeks.

The Executive is a sandbox business simulation game that lets you relive the history of the Hollywood movie industry from the 70s to the present. As the founder of the newest production company in town, you can create the movies you've always dreamed of. Hire a top-notch team, research new technologies, and grow your annual Box Office to become a Major Studio.

KEY FEATURES

  • Produce movies: Create your own movies by picking their themes, genres, and target ratings. Write your screenplay, cast your favorite stars, and decide how to spend your budget to make your movie shine.
  • Build and manage franchises: Create sequels, prequels, reboots, and even spinoffs to capitalize on audience demand.
  • Optimize your distribution: Once your movie is ready, decide how to distribute it: self-distribute, or partner with someone. Analyze the competition, and secure the perfect release date for your movie.
  • Monetize your back catalog: Manage your studio’s library and maximize ancillary revenue with strategic home entertainment deals. Partner with distributors who are the best fit for your catalog, and invest in add-ons to boost sales.
  • Grow your studio: Move to larger offices, hire talented employees, train them, and research new capabilities.
  • Choose your own path: Whether you want to create a movie arthouse, pursue critical acclaim and awards, or focus on producing blockbusters and expanding your company into a major studio, the choice is yours. But beware: sometimes production doesn’t go as planned, and you’ll have to face the unexpected...

The Executive will launch on February 11th for a base price of US$ 14,99, with a 10% launch discount for two weeks.

Motor City Comic Con - Felicia Day

Despite many big names at the Motor City Comic Con, I am not sure there was one my wife and I were more interested in than seeing Felicia Day. Despite being the first question and answer panel of the day, she brought a lot of energy to it and did her best to answer any and all fan questions.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies - Movie Review

When I saw the poster of “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” I thought something is seriously wrong in the world. What is next, I wondered, “Romeo and Juliet and the curse of the Werewolf”? “War and Peace and the Martians?” (oh no… perhaps I have already said too much!). However, I try to watch every action, adventure and thriller film I find on cinema and “P&P&Z” would be no exception.

    Daddy's Home - Movie Review

I am a fan of Mark Wahlberg; I have seen many of his movies and liked all of them except the dreadful Pain and Gain. The trailer of “Daddy’s home” made me laugh, which rarely happens. So, I went to see the movie with a friend of mine.

The 5th Wave - Movie Review

I am a fan of Chloe Grace Moretz although I had never seen a movie of hers. I was thinking of watching “Carrie” but I couldn’t stand the idea of her getting killed so violently! So, the Fifth Wave was the first movie I saw with the super cute actress.

I had a fun video game themed weekend, did you?

Just a quick 'good morning' - and I certainly hope you all had a good weekend.  Mine was predictably hectic.  I knew it would be, but it was a lot of fun too.  I got quite a bit of gaming in - the usual suspects with Madden being the primary focus, but I poked at several other titles as well, including FPS Creator.  Fun, but there's a steep learning curve to be had there.  Still, my son and I are tackling it together so that makes it more entertaining.

Beyond that though?  I got to play some games in an old school arcade for the first time in at least a decade.

ZEN Pinball iOS tables trailer - The Avengers!

I'm a big fan of Zen Pinball - I've given it very good reviews on the PSN both for its classic tables as well as the Marvel ones I have played (there are some new ones I plan to comment on soon).  I just picked it up for my 3DS recently as well.

    20 years of Sonic

My wife sent me this - I completely missed it. Given the fact my 2 youngest were HUGE Sonic fans for years, I thought this was pretty cool.

Anyway, my youngest thought this was really cool when I showed her right now:

I think we've owned about 2/3 of those games - I know I played the first 4 that showed up on that list. I haven't played Sonic Colors or Generations yet, though my youngest did ask me for both while watching that with me. Fond overall memories, though like Mario I enjoy Sonic much more as a 2D, high-speed plotformer than as a 3D adventure game.
