LEGO Marvel Super Heroes and White Noise - Beeps and Beers

This week my mind is on collaboration. Now, I have been playing a lot of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance - both parts one and two. My reviews on those two titles went live earlier this week, but I also found myself wanting to play something a little whimsical, a little Marvel - and found myself firing up LEGO Marvel Super Heroes again this week. Honestly LEGO with almost any property seems like a good idea, but the Marvel games are among my favorites their collaboration has produced. On a similar note, I tried a new beer last weekend called White Noise - a collaboration between two of my favorite breweries in Perrin Brewing Company and Cigar City Brewing.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes - Mac Review

The Fantastic Four. The X-Men. The Avengers. About the only way to get them on the same screen together is in video game form (due to the mess that is the Marvel movie rights). While that is a source of frustration for fans of the Marvel movies, at least the video games seem to be able to get it right as LEGO marvel Super Heroes for the Mac provides over a hundred different characters to romp through adventures with.

LEGO Worlds - PC Preview

Lego worlds is one of those games that has huge potential but forgets a key piece of human psychology: we like things more if we work for it.

Lego worlds drops your khaki clad adventurer into a world created entirely out of Lego blocks. Which made me cringe a little remembering all the unfortunate encounters my feet have had with the little things. Like Minecraft, there aren’t any tutorials, you’re basically just left to run willy nilly around the biome and bash things.

LEGO Jurassic World - Mac Review

Dinosaurs. LEGOs. Those two things alone should spark the imagination of almost any kid - I certainly recall them coming together frequently in my childhood, and they seem like a perfect pairing for a video game as well. That the recent Jurassic World movie was such a huge success should only reinforce the likelihood that the game is well-received. The good news is, the video game holds up quite well as a creative, kid-friendly take on the movie.
