Digital Extremes Unveils Next Expansion Warframe: The Old Peace Along with Cosmetic Goodies

LONDON, ONTARIO – July 19, 2025 | Digital Extremes celebrated 10 years of TennoCon with a milestone event today attended by thousands of guests and streamed live to millions of fans around the world. Join 85+ million other players and embark on the road ahead for Warframe, starting with the full gameplay reveal of The Old Peace, the next major Quest and Narrative Chapter launching for free on all platforms this year, packaged with a new Side Story, The Devil's Triad, featuring a devil-themed Warframe and new Protoframes. Keep the stars in sight and pave the way for the 2026 Narrative Chapter, Tau, also teased in TennoCon’s finale.

Other reveals included a look at Caliban Prime Access coming soon, an untitled Fall update introducing a new player Mod tutorial Quest, The Teacher, as well as a Fall closed beta for Warframe on Android. Digital Extremes also unveiled that Warframe is arriving on the tabletop RPG scene with Warframe x Starfinder: Operation Orias in partnership with Paizo and offered another peek at the Valkyr Heirloom Collection, launching July 21.
"Ten years of TennoCon is such a mind-boggling thing to say out loud,” said Rebecca Ford, Creative Director of Warframe. “When we first started this celebration event back in 2016, we had no idea it would grow to what it is today. Our community is everything to us; we wouldn’t be here without them. To be able to continue TennoCon and bring together more players in person from around the world and treat them to the latest announcements, hijinks, and simply celebrate the world of Warframe is a privilege we don’t take for granted. The 10th TennoCon has been a deeply special, unforgettable journey. We want to thank our community to Tau and back for joining us on this monumental milestone. See you all next year!”

Notable reveals made during Digital Extremes’ annual community celebration include:

THE OLD PEACE (2025): To take hold of the future, you must awaken the past in Warframe’s next major Narrative Chapter. Revisit a period of tenuous peace between the Sentients and Orokin while uncovering notable features arriving:

Main Quest, The Old Peace: Think far back and remember the long-forgotten tale of Tau, a childhood Sentient friend named Adis, as well as the war-scarring conflict between the Orokin, their creations, and a coalition of Dax Anarch Warriors upon the Perita moon.

Side Story, The Devil's Triad: Welcome a new trio of characters – Father Lyon Allard (Protoframe of Harrow), Marie Leroux (Protoframe of Wisp), and Uriel (the new devil-themed Warframe) – in cinematic style within a Side Story, arriving alongside The Old Peace.

New Enemy Faction: Walk a fragile line during a tumultuous moment of harmony and discover who is friend and foe. What starts as a rebellion of Dax Anarchs could cause alliances to cascade and put into question how deep this Old Peace really went.

Operator Remaster: Gaze upon the Operator’s graphically remastered character models and cosmetic assets to improve their visual fidelity, including new facial animations, and aligning with Warframe’s latest assets. TennoCon attendees caught the first glimpse of this remaster in The Old Peace gameplay reveal.

Tauron Focus Expansion: Study up for the upcoming Focus expansion, introducing a new ultimate ability for the Operator. More details to come around this feature expansion in future Devstreams.

Original Song Released Today: Remember the sorrow of our forgotten Sentient childhood friend, Adis, with his heartfelt song, 'Lullaby of the Manifold,' now on YouTube. This somber, hauntingly beautiful track was first heard in The Old Peace gameplay reveal and will be available on most major music streaming platforms on July 21.

VALKYR HEIRLOOM COSMETIC (JULY 21, 2025): Valkyr, the tormented experiment, aims to make witnesses go berserk hot off the heels of her recent gameplay rework with a new Heirloom Collection available July 21 in collaboration with community artist Pertti Bahaa.

WARFRAME X STARFINDER TABLETOP COLLAB (OCTOBER 2025): In partnership with acclaimed tabletop RPG developer Paizo, Warframe x Starfinder: Operation Orias will bring the surreal sci-fi world of Warframe to tabletops everywhere this October. TAU (2026): The Old Peace propels Warframe’s current “Void War” story arc into full speed, setting the stage for the monumental Tau Narrative Chapter to explore in 2026.

Rome, Italy - December 7, 2021
- Publisher Leonardo Interactive and developer Moonwolf Entertainment have officially announced Temperia: Soul of Majestic, the first international strategic card game with an innovative “Open-Handed” mechanic. Temperia: Soul of Majestic is unique in that players must use totally exposed cards and two decks: one of 20 Creatures and another of 20 Equipment. Each match is completely different thanks to the countless creature abilities, equipment, and elemental powers that may be found on the game's board.

Created by independent Italian company Moonwolf Entertainment Srl, developed by A2 softworks and born from the minds of game designers Enrico "Wolfillupo" Fedoni and Dario "Moonryde" Ferracci, Temperia: Soul of Majestic includes a variety of features that distinguish it from other card games on the market:

Temperia: Soul of Majestic was designed with the goal of gradually becoming an international eSport sensation.

● FORTUITY: Temperia: Soul of Majestic is a game of skill. Randomness is limited and RNG impact is minimal. Are you ready to strategize?

Business Management Simulator StartUp Panic Available Now!

3 December 2020 - Today, developer Algo Rocks and publisher tinyBuild launch Startup Panic, a fast-moving business sim, on PC via the Epic Games Store, as well as iOS and Android.

Quit your job and get some Startup Panic! Injecting classic tycoon gameplay with a sharp and absurd sense of humour, Startup Panic is a highly customisable tech-business management sim ideal for players new to the genre - or veterans looking for a bit of personality as their small company conquers the corporate world.

Starting from a bedroom office, Startup Panic builds quickly, meaning wannabe CEOs must move fast to navigate hackers, underhanded competitors and even real sea-sailing pirates to become the best.

With an expansive business customisation tree, a huge world map to branch out to and full office design control, players can design their perfect start-up from scratch - and defend it against the ever-changing market how they see fit.

Send your staff on a well-earned break to a dinosaur theme park, make some shady dealing with elite hackers, and work your way to over seven unique victories - including becoming President or even setting up a colony on Mars!

Algorocks founder and CEO Adib Toriq said, "When we first started developing Startup Panic, I thought I could bring something to the game from my experience as a start-up founder. A job offer to abandon your start-up just as you begin, the celebration when you win (or lose) a competition, the risk of employee poaching, and many other game mechanics are all inspired by my real-life experiences as a founder.

"However, along the way, we found things that could spice up the game. We started to think, "Wouldn't it be fun if, aside from being poached by competitors, our employees could also be at risk of kidnapping by pirates when they take a beach vacation? What if the player could blackmail a hacker to get their data back? What if an employee gets caught stealing your favourite sandwich? And so the goofy side of Startup Panic grew.

"At its core, Startup Panic is a simulation game, but its depth and personality are what makes it shine."

Startup Panic is out now on PC via the Epic Games Store, and is also available for iOS and Android.

About Startup Panic

Conquer the tech business industry from your bedroom in Startup Panic, a business management sim with a lot of personality.

  • You're in control - Decide each project's priorities and focus, what does your company stand for?

  • Keep an eye on the clock - Taking a team vacation to an undersea diner will boost office morale, but focusing on the next best feature before your competitors will skyrocket your reputation, choose wisely!

  • Assemble the perfect team - Each potential employee comes with their own personality and skills - some good, some not so much. Look out for who you share your secrets with.

  • The sky's the limit - Compete with rival CEOs for new users in your region, and then expand out by building new headquarters on the world map!

  • Each decision matters - Who knows what trouble may come your way next as you lead the charge? Watch out for greedy hackers, shady CEOs, and even pirates as your company grows!

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition - Retro Reflection

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition by developer Beamdog, Overhaul Games, BioWare Corporation and publisher Atari, Inc.Android OS retro reflection written by David.

Estimated reading time: 9 minutes

I’ve always been a bit of a full on geek, but one moment really sticks in my mind as the beginning of it all. Taking me from a passing interest in gaming to diving deep into reading, writing, fantasy as a genre and the way stories are told in general, Baldur’s Gate set the foundation for much of my future. I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t been giddy when I saw that Beamdog had picked it up and ported it to mobile of all places. Unfortunately, I had a habit of keeping overly out-of-date phones and couldn’t even play it until the full suite of classic Dungeons and Dragons games from my formative years made the trip: Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur’s Gate 2: Enhanced Edition, Planescape: Torment, Icewind Dale, and their own original creation, taking place between Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2, Siege of Dragonspear.

The games are made for a tablet, recommending a 7-inch screen, though the games work well on my Samsung Galaxy S10+ regardless, and the would-be difficulties of navigating dialogue options are negated by numbered buttons ready for a thumb tap. The only real problem I had with this version of the game had nothing at all with the game itself; I can’t seem to pay that much attention to a mobile device for long enough to really get deep into the game. Conveniently for me, the game was also recently ported to Xbox One, and not only includes Baldur’s Gate 2, but also Beamdog’s own Siege of Dragonspear. Three for the price of… Five actually, but $9.99 USD is pretty steep as-is for a mobile game, even one like this, while $49.99 USD is pretty much expected where console markets come in.

Big upside to the console version, aside from screen size and my mobile-distraction being a separate device entirely, is the movement. Before the iconic opener, I howled with glee. I could move my party with my thumbstick! After marvelling at this for a few short seconds (the game was originally point-and-click), checking out the I-skipped-the-tutorial controls and finding them fairly familiar for console CRPGs like Obsidian’s Pillars of Eternity, I entered the tavern outside of Candlekeep Hall and approached the innkeep to buy my starting gear.

“My hotel’s clean as an Elven arse!”

The jolly man exclaims aloud as you pick up what you need. I started as a Dragon Disciple Sorcerer, so I actually didn’t need anything, and couldn’t yet use most of it. There are some ranged options even for a nearly-no-proficiencies sorcerer, but I thought I’d hang onto my coins, despite my Burning Hands being limited to twice per day. My quarterstaff should do it, right? As it turned out, it would absolutely do the trick, after missing a dozen swings at the lowly thug that attacked me, I finally cracked him a couple good ones.

When I was attacked shortly after, I opted instead to use Burning Hands, instantly downing him and making me feel all the first-level-sorcerer might. I had to nap before I finished exploring though, returning to the Inn and passing eight hours in a room to regain my spent spell slot so I would be prepared for the road. While the tutorial is handy and goes a bit deeper into some of the mechanics, there are actually “Tutor” characters sprinkled around Candlekeep Hall to teach you how the game works, and explain the UI, as you explore this initial area. Granted, I’m playing this while familiar with games in general, but returning to this game for the first time in easily fifteen years, I’d say both the official tutorial and the less-direct Tutors tied into this starting zone were pretty effective at their jobs.

Soon thereafter, I met with my father/mentor character and we were off! Only for him to die in the very next scene, lending a much greater sense of danger to the two very-direct attacks from earlier, and a relief as I gained my first party member, Imoen, a rogue I met just before departing Candlekeep Hall. The only instructions we were given before Gorian and I were ambushed on the road were that we were meeting with allies at the Friendly Arm Inn, and Imoen and I set off at once. After some minor baddies, and a mysterious totally-not-a-wizard with an interest in my doings, we made it to the Friendly Arm, and on our way into this fortress of a tavern, we’re attacked again by someone looking for me specifically.

This time though, there’s a guard nearby who jumps to my aid. Dispatching the villain with haste, before I could call my dragon-blooded wrath down. Once inside, we met the friends of Gorian were looking for, and it began to feel like a real party. Sorcerer, Rogue, Fighter, Druid. Not a bad group to start an adventure with. In fact, we mopped the floor with some hobgoblins together! After the first couple of encounters as a party, I forgot how absolutely unforgiving 2nd Edition Advanced Dungeons and Dragons really was though, and my pyromanic urges ended up wiping my whole party, because Burning Hands has just enough of an Area of Effect to catch them all, and one of the three hobgoblins we were fighting. Whoops.

The game progresses in much a similar manner, with as much cheese as late nineties fantasy writers could muster, this is Dungeons and Dragons and BioWare (Editor's Note (PY): BlackIsles at the time) after all, and some entertaining characters on the road. One in particular stood out toward the beginning. Lord Foreshadow is a very subtle easter egg that references both the coming sequel, Shadows of Amn, and Neverwinter Nights, another BioWare not-related-except-the-setting D&D game that itself signified major steps toward digital D&D play that we see so frequently now.

Everybody likes the classic Five Man Band, but Baldur’s Gate opts for a total of six characters in your party, should you choose. Your own player character, and a whole range of new friends of varying alignment, skill, and personality to choose from. From vocally disapproving of your actions to actively attacking you if you do something too far out of their line, the characters’ varied morality and motivation lend an excellent extra layer to the game, and an awareness of who you’re taking where is a good survival strategy.

I signed on with a dwarf looking to hire some mercenary work, and had to choose between him and my bard (since I’d just acquired the bard and had no attachment), and the bard simply stayed put in the Dwarf’s shop. Turned out the man was evil, as pointed out in a background-interaction between him and my Neutral-Good Fighter, Khalid. It also turned out, he was really good at eating hobgoblin axe, and in a fight with six of the beasts, fell almost as soon as combat started. Nobody else, including two very squishy casters, took any damage in the fight, so we sold the loot and picked up our Bard friend once more, with some fresh gear for him. Turns out some problems sort themselves out! Besides, he had a nice helmet.

The game isn’t a walking simulator by any means, but it involves quite a great deal of quiet exploration as you follow what amounts to vague directions most of the time as you explore moderately sized square zones. This is a game that blends the interactivity of gaming with the pacing and storytelling of a novel, or even a series of them. You go from little more than a child who’d grown up in an academic institution fiercely guarded against the outside to a god-who-walks-the-earth being of interplanar power, but it takes much longer than more readily accessible modern games. This is due to what is, in my opinion, both the brightest point and the most glaring flaw in the game.

Baldur’s Gate was originally created to literally be a digital single player game of Advanced Dungeons and Dragons. There are certain aspects of the game that just don’t translate without that interaction, but at the same time, there are stories that just couldn’t be told as well neither from a more direct game nor from a non-interactive medium. While this odd mashed up medium of storytelling does wonders for the world and story itself, it’s also a big part of why the game is hard to get into. THAC0, To Hit Armor Class 0, was possibly the worst part of Advanced Dungeons and Dragons, and its removal was no small part of how massive Third Edition D&D became in comparison. I’m not going to go into an explanation of this too far, but it was based around lowering your armor class and raising your THAC0, and was calculated in ways that were so not clear that player groups would just use different combat rules.

If you want a single player AD&D experience, it’s fantastic. If you want an entertaining and consistent gaming experience, it’s kinda horrifying. Beamdog got around this with a more modern list of difficulty settings, ranging from Storyteller mode where you’re essentially guaranteed success to Throne of Baal which is essentially for people who are both masochists and really into THAC0 and AD&D.

All in all, this was both a great nostalgia trip and a fun gaming experience for me, though I'm a big D&D fan in general. Maybe I’ve got some rose colouring to my glasses, but getting to see the original content refreshed and expanded upon felt great, and the genuine love for the original that Beamdog has, that made these possible, has me excited to check out Siege of Dragonspear as a connector between Baldur’s Gate and Shadows of Amn.

Demo Released for Gataela - A Steampunk RPG

Previously featured in our Sunday Bites, Gataela is back with new features and content for players as Atemly Games continues on its development.

Check back soon for another bite sized look that I hope to have to you shortly!

-----

DESCRIPTION

A Victorian Steampunk RPG where saving the Kingdom requires more than just brains and brawn: you also need to talk to people! Featuring a debate battle system, talk, debate, convince and negotiate with NPCs in order to save the country!

STORY

A decade ago, a devastating civil war rocked the country of Gataela. Though the country has recovered, the victims have not, and Zack - one of these - heads to the local Lord to request aid. However, along his way, his journey leads him as far as the capital, stirring up the old flames of war.

HISTORY

Gataela is an RPG inspired by our love of the Tales series, the aesthetics of Victorian Steampunk, and the desire to give NPCs a greater role than background flavour text. We wanted to create a game that was focused on the everyday, where the average person can make a change, and where the goal is not to save the world, but to make a difference in the place you call home. Gatalea is a game about communication, and the power of the individual.

FEATURES

  • Two Battle Systems: Timed turn-based, and Debate battles where you can negotiate, convince, and debate with NPCs

Grobo - Mobile Review

Introduction

Grobo is a cute puzzle platformer that immediately pulls players in with a story about a robot that has the ability to shift gravity. It's not a complicated game to understand, especially with the introduction/tutorial, and it has consumed a ton of my time. For a mobile game, of which, I personally don't play many, Grobo has captured my heart and attention.

Gameplay

This is the first mobile title I've done as a review, which meant that I did a bunch of checking of phone specs before I even received the code. Once I was certain that the game would run on my phone and after obtaining the game, I found myself taken in by Grobo. As players progress in the game, there is a story being told right before each level. Certain levels also contain ghosts which will give players more of the backstory of Megatropolis. We, the players, come to understand that Grobo is alone in this world. He wakes up in an area that is quiet and void of other robots (or 'life'), so he embarks on a quest to find answers. Each level is a puzzle that players must complete in order to open up more story bits.

As with any puzzle game, there is a start point and an end point where players must get to, but there are obstacles in the way. Each. level increases in difficulty as the game adds more blocks that stop players from easily making it to the end. It isn't too long before they run into mines that are strategically placed in the middle of the level to force players into solving the puzzles differently. Levels also include certain blocks that will gravity shift with Grobo and players can gravity shift the direction where these movable blocks can act as ground that he can stand on. Beware though, the blocks serve as useful tools for the player but if Grobo is shift gravity the wrong way, he can be squished by the blocks.

Movement on mobile is easy, although it was frustrating on my phone (which I'll touch on later), players can touch and drag their finger across the screen for Grobo to move in a direction. They can also tap their finger on the screen so that Grobo moves a little bit, like to get close to an edge where he can land on another platform. To gravity shift, players flick their finger in the direction they want to go. As an example, if there is a block above Grobo that he needs to land on, the player would flick up. Not only would he be on that northern block, but he would also be upside down to the player.

Grobo has a couple of negative points about it that aren't actual problems but perhaps it is more accurate to call them preferences. My first issue is: depending on the sensitivity of the smart phone, the game will sometimes read an action that isn't intended. This isn't the fault of the game, it's more of a phone issue. For example, my old phone, which I played most of the game on, was frustrating to move Grobo or get the screen to register a gravity shift - often causing me to die. My newer phone responds to the movement of Grobo much better, but has a higher chance of registering a movement that wasn't intended - also leading to my untimely demise. The reason I mention this is that this game could benefit from a touch sensitivity bar much like PC games would have a pointer speed in game (that is separate from the native mouse speed OR the individually set DPI). If not that, my other suggestion might be to have a way that players can move Grobo with directional arrows. By adding a feature like what I just explained, it would help the game be less frustrating for certain situations and allow players to enjoy the game more.

The second minor issue I have with the game is not a requirement but would certainly be helpful, which is that the game only tells players how many moves they need in order to 3 star a level after the fact. But further than that, the real issue here is that many of the levels feel like they only have one solution that players can make. In this case, the reason I feel like this is a con to the game is because many of the levels almost feel like they are holding your hand - leaving little room for creative solving. Grobo suffers from having one clear solution to each level and once a player sees that solution, the game becomes easy.  For a puzzle game, I consider that to be a con - especially since I haven't yet hit a level that I couldn't figure out with a fair amount of ease.

With those things said, neither 'detriment' to the game deters my enjoyment of it. I found Grobo to be fairly easy, cute, and relaxing to play - so long as my phone would let me move! But the real charm of Grobo comes from the story, which is the driving force of the game, in my opinion. It is the idea that Grobo is alone, and players are taking him through these levels in order to find out what happened. Ultimately, that is the reason I quite like this mobile title.

Graphics and Music

Grobo is a polished game. Despite my individual issues with movement because of the touch screen sensitivity levels, the games graphics are quite detailed. It isn't a pixelated game in that appearances can sometimes formulate a persons opinion of a game, but rather it looks fantastic even though players are inside a factory. Grobo is detailed, like in the case of the boxes and the mines. The aesthetic of being inside a factory of a Megatropolis comes across clearly between the music, graphic choices, and background splashes. Moreover, the detailing of the ground makes players feel like they are in different places - as in, the ground is not static. It paints a clear picture for players to immerse themselves in - a fact I appreciate, which is to say that I like stories that are told not just with the obvious indicators but with everything else that creates the atmosphere.

I quite like the music in Grobo, which functions as a relaxing backdrop to the puzzle solving nature of the game. It is smooth and non-intrusive allowing players to focus on the puzzle solutions, and it adds to the atmosphere of the game. The music and sound design in Grobo was done by a company called Phoz who are based in New York City. Its team consists of two people, Alba S. Torremocha and Noah Kellman, who have worked on two other games besides Grobo. More information about Phoz can be found on their Website, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook pages.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I feel that Grobo is a charming mobile title. While the puzzles don't seem overly complicated, I had a good time playing the game and learning about Megatropolis. It is a neat title that fans of the genre would enjoy, even though the game is fairly short. As such, I give Grobo a 9 out of 10.

Whispers of a Machine - PC Review

Intro

Whispers of a Machine is an indie point and click mystery game that has made its mark on me. At first, it presents itself as a normal adventure game where players are trying to find a murderer, but it quickly develops into a game that makes players think about their perspectives on life.

We play Vera, a cybernetically enhanced human who's profession is special investigator of violent crimes. Throughout the game, every answer or action taken shapes Vera's personality. This is a key element in the game because depending on what path players end up on, they will receive special abilities. And as far as I've discerned, regardless of what abilities a player ends up with, the case can be solved.

I found after playing the whole game that it stands at the top of my list for favorites released this year.

Story

As I mentioned above, we follow the character Agent Vera, who is hired to solve the murder of a man named Karl – at least that's how it begins. This is a point I'll touch on later.

The tutorial, which takes players through the different abilities Vera has, is simple and short. At the beginning of the game, Vera is able to use a scanner for analyzing evidence, a pulse monitor to detect a lie, and an augmentation for strength in case players need to strong arm something. As a point and click game, I expected a bit of pixel hunting and was pleasantly surprised when the developers included a way to see clickable objects.

Right off the cuff we find that Vera's personality is decided by character interactions and it dictates what Vera's path will be. Each path corresponds with and grants access to different augmentations. Once a path is locked in, the player has a new augment for the duration of the day. Although, having only gone through one playthrough, I don't know if the augments change if players move into another path between days. Anyways, these are the paths you can take and what they represent:

  • Analytical – Path of Frigg
  • Empathetic – Path of Baldr
  • Assertive – Path of Tyr

Note that all three paths are named after a corresponding Norse deity, which is a nice touch. Though, we never discover why it is important to the story, I do appreciate its inclusion because this shows how much the developers care about the small details in a game. Now, the reason I say it isn't really understood is because throughout the course of the story, players have to decide if belief (or religion) or technological advancement is more important to the player. However, I surmise that with the Norse runes displayed throughout the game, that the townfolk lean towards belief over technology – especially since it is the catalyst that almost destroyed humanity in Whispers.

In my playthrough, I ended up on the path I expected, which is the Path of Frigg. This amuses me because the augments I received for the next day were dark vision and invisibility. I happen to like being stealthy...

Another feature of the game is that it remembers players decisions, which is what gives Vera the augmentations, but it's important to know this because the game saves often. This also means that there's no going back to a previous save in Whispers. It is a feature that doesn't bother me because once I finished the game, I was satisfied with its ending. And at no time did I feel the need to change any of my decisions, unlike other games which offer players a choice.

Characters and Voice Acting

As a murder mystery game, good characters will often make or break the story, more than the clues and the red herrings. And any good storyteller working in the genre of mystery, know how to redirect a players focus off of the truth. With that said, part of the reason I really enjoyed Whispers is because Raw Fury crafted a story that was not predictable to me. And more than that, what really sets this game apart is how the characters shape that unpredictability by the fact that they are masters of deception. Although, that breaks down into incredible writing and phenomenal voice acting. So, while I had interacted with each of the characters, the plot shocked me enough that rationalizing who might be the killer became secondary in my mind, even though solving the crimes was more important.

Now for the hard part... I liked the characters but it's very difficult for me to explain anything about them because it could lead into spoilers, which is not my objective in any game review. What I can say is that each of the characters serve a purpose in Whispers, meaning that no character exists without them providing a hint or a personality path for Vera. Each of them are human (even if they have augments) and they have their own flaws, which adds to the realism of the game.

Beyond that, I'm not going to explain anything more about the characters because I feel like some of their names would spoil key elements of the mystery. This might seem like a cop out, but Whispers releases information slowly for a reason.

Having said that, Whispers has a fantastic cast of voice actors and I was able to find the Twitter profiles for most of them. Here are the people behind the voices used in the game: Violet Young, Finley Smith, Dave Gilbert, Shelly Shenoy, Andy Chmelko, Andy Manjuck, Al Pagano, Andy Mack, Sandra Espinoza, Mike Pollock, Arielle Siegel, Tom Schalk, and Ivy Dupler.

Graphics and UI

Now for the fun part!

Upon launching the game, players are presented with two options. One is to start the game while the other is to open up the configuration tool. This is where players will choose the graphics driver and filter, choose the sound device, and enable full screen or windowed mode. The resolution size is automatically detected for convenience. However, these are the only options given.

Once in the game, the option menu allows players to change the language and adjust the game volumes. There is a slider for tutorials, allowing for no tutorials, critical ones, or all of them. Thankfully, the tutorial section is quite short and doesn't pop up much after going through the beginning.

The UI in this game is straight forward as well. Inventory is displayed at the bottom of the screen where it can be clearly seen, and is not intrusive to the player. This is where the scanner, pulse monitor, and augments are displayed. When players activate the scanner and every time evidence is collected, it will show up at the top of the screen. If players come across a relevant point of interest, a sound will be heard and the color in the area will change to green. Finally, players can view the path they are on by clicking the left most triangle, which is also located at the bottom of the screen.

As for the graphics, Whispers is a pixelated game that I thought would hinder gameplay. Fortunately, I was completely wrong in that aspect and found that the game was designed well enough that evidence was clearly visible to the player.

Final Thoughts

From this point forward I will talk a little bit about what really intrigued me about the game to give it a 10 out of 10 score, because there are reasons that I love Whispers. However, in the interest of saving people from obscene spoilers to the game, I wanted to mention the score before going into detail.

Please be sure to follow Raw Fury, Clifftop Games, Faravid Interactive. Don't forget to purchase a copy of Whispers on Humble Bundle, Steam, GOG, iOS, and Android. Also, be sure to join Raw Fury's Discord to keep up to date on all the latest news!

Now that that is said, SOME MORE SPOILERS FROM HERE ON DOWN.

What made me really enjoy this game above others that I've played this year (with the exception of Heaven's Vault), is that players get to develop Vera's personality based on how she reacts to situations. It doesn't rely on the linear nature of the story, which can be very tired for players that enjoy games in this genre. And since the cast of characters isn't large, following the Path of Frigg made sense for me because, even though I figured out who the killer was, I had little understand of their motives. The reason this is important to me is because often I'm exposed to static characters in video games. You choose the decisions and reactions in many games but often are not given options to shape a characters personality - at least not really. With Whispers, your character is given different choices based on the path they followed.

The biggest reason I personally love Whispers is because of its themes. Not only does the game shock players fairly quickly, it then drops a proverbial bomb on them. Players are exposed to themes of creation, technology, religion, terrorism, and relationships. And the way all of these topics are woven into the story is actually quite brilliant. In fact, it is done well enough that I was horrified at the very idea of this game becoming a reality in the future. The fight between humanity and AI is wearing thin, in my opinion, and I was disturbed thinking about all of these themes. It's the idea that technology plays such a huge role in our society that it will eventually take over and we'd lose our humanity. The fact that in Whispers AI was made illegal due to them causing the fall of humanity, show a bleak outcome. As a result, I could only think back to how story concepts in movies like Blade Runner, Ex Machina (although the movie is awful, but that's a whole other discussion), and The Matrix might end up becoming our future. If that doesn't make much sense to you, the screenshot in this part of the review is the reason I was greatly disturbed on a whole other level. It is what challenged my perspectives on life and forced me to think about the path society appears to be taking. At that point, the nitty gritty detective work was the easy part of the game.

With all of that said, I look forward to more hard hitting titles like Whispers of a Machine, so be sure to click the social media links listed above!

Fate GO USA Tour Pictures and Milestone Surpassed!

Fate/Grand Order has surpassed 5 million downloads since its release in June of 2017. Initially released in the U.S. and Canada, the global sensation has since expanded to be available in Australia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, and Vietnam on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Fate/Grand Order is currently available in over ten regions and five languages after overwhelming demand from fans across the globe.

The mobile game also received critical acclaim with an Award for excellence in the “Games of the Year” category at the Japan Game Awards 2018 organized by the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association (CESA) this past September. In a press release by the Japan Game Awards, the association cites the game’s overwhelming support from its users as well as its excellence in providing “a vast worldview, strategic battles that require use of skills and Command Cards, a variety of unique characters with a cast of distinguished voice actors, all in a free-to-play title” among the reasons for their decision.

One of the most successful mobile games in the world, Fate/Grand Order has players embark on an epic quest known as the Grand Order to prevent the extinction of humanity with help from powerful Heroic Spirits, or Servants, who are based on popular historical, literary, and mythological figures. The game features strategic, turn-based gameplay, which requires players to assemble powerful teams in order to advance through the story. A joint project between TYPE-MOON, Aniplex Inc., and DELiGHTWORKS Inc., Fate/Grand Order is considered one of the most story-driven mobile games ever produced, featuring an expansive main story and side stories in addition to frequent in-game events. Together with its compelling narratives and characters, the game has captivated players worldwide and inspired countless cosplays, an original anime special, and the tabletop game, Fate/Grand Order Duel -collection figures-. In addition to being featured on Android Authority’s “10 Best Gacha Games and Mobile RPGs for Android” article, the game received praise from the official Apple App Store Games Twitter account, which posted: “We were curious why Fate/Grand Order was so popular. Now we can’t stop playing it.”

The response in North America has been so strong that the mobile game kicked off its own special Fate/Grand Order U.S.A. Tour 2019, beginning in Los Angeles, California. Saturday, February 23rd through Sunday, February 24th, Aniplex of America - makers of Fate/Grand Order; downloaded over 5M times and was the most tweeted game in 2018 - hosted FGO fans from everywhere. The unique experience happened for the first time ever in the U.S. via a two-day kick-off event in Los Angeles for the Fate/Grand Order U.S.A. Tour 2019.

The kickoff event featured a plethora of attractions including many immersive photo-op areas, a Challenge Quest Battle Zone, and a Kigurumi Greeting Stage where fans could catch a glimpse of the Female Protagonist from “Learning with Manga.” Fans were dazzled by the large-scale Fate/Grand Order Monument, which captures an iconic scene from the game’s story that pulled any fan’s heartstrings. The Fate/Grand Order U.S.A. Tour 2019 also had a mesmerizing Noble Phantasm Exhibit featuring life-size weapons from the game including both Jeanne d'Arc and Jeanne d'Arc (Alter)'s flags, Nero Claudius's Aestus Estus, Gilgamesh's sword, Ea, Leonardo da Vinci's staff, and the unveiling of the never-before-seen Sakata Kintoki (Rider)’s Golden Bear and Altria Pendragon (Alter)’s Excalibur Morgan.

The Los Angeles event also summoned special guests, Satoshi Tsuruoka (voice of Arash, Gilles de Rais, Caligula, and Spartacus), and FGO PROJECT’s Creative Producer, Yosuke Shiokawa, for special panels on the Main Stage. Fans that attended the Los Angeles event were the first ones to get their hands on exclusive tour merchandise, as well as products from other vendors selling Fate merchandise.
