Dragonis Games and Iphigames announced that The Shore: Enhanced Edition, the fully adapted and refined console version of the acclaimed Lovecraftian horror adventure, will launch on PlayStation 5 on April 30, 2026. The Xbox Series X|S version is planned for later in 2026.
Originally released on PC in 2021 as the debut title of Dragonis Games and the singular creative vision of Ares Dragonis, The Shore captivated players with its oppressive atmosphere, towering eldritch entities and a deeply personal narrative rooted in the Lovecraftian mythos.
Five years after its original release, the console release marks an important milestone for Dragonis Games and a significant evolution for the IP.
“Players had been requesting The Shore on consoles continuously over the years, and I am genuinely glad that through our collaboration with Iphigames, we can finally make the game accessible to even more players. This is a moment we have been working toward for a long time and the Enhanced Edition is the definitive way to experience the island.”
— Ares Dragonis, Founder, Dragonis Games
At the heart of The Shore is a deep and sincere engagement with the Lovecraftian mythos, the literary tradition that H.P. Lovecraft built around cosmic indifference, forbidden knowledge and the terrifying insignificance of humanity in the face of ancient, unknowable forces. This tradition was not merely an aesthetic influence on the game but its philosophical foundation.
Players take on the role of Andrew, a father who arrives on a remote, cursed island in search of his missing daughter. What begins as a desperate search becomes something far darker. Ancient gods lie dormant beneath the island, slowly fracturing reality above. Decaying ruins, twisted landscapes and whispers from beyond the threshold of human comprehension surround Andrew at every turn.
Players must survive encounters with eldritch entities and piece together the truth behind Andrew’s daughter’s fate. Every fragment of knowledge uncovered pulls Andrew deeper into a nightmare shaped by fear, loss and obsession. In true Lovecraftian fashion, some truths were never meant to be known.
