Two and a half decades after the game first released, we have Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered available on modern consoles, and this title is absolutely a blast from the past.
Culdcept the First (also attributed as Culdcept the First Saturn Tribute) is a very fun game, that does show its age. This is basically a re-issue of the 1997 Sega Saturn game that mashes together deckbuilding (think Magic: The Gathering) and boardgames (such as Monopoly).
Sometimes a game will hit your feed that is completely unexpected. That is the reaction I had when I discovered Map Map - A Game About Maps (which I'll refer to as Map Map from here on out). It is a puzzle exploration game where you take the role of a young cartographer setting out on a relaxing journey to many unknown islands.
Welcome to an adventure across the land of Raoah! Help guide Hira on this metroidvania quest across a land that is being choked by corruption. Can you help Hira return peace to Raoah with the help of the companions he meets along the way, or will the world fall into desolation? Only you can help out in Fallen Tear: The Ascension!
Let me tell you about this cozy game my daughter and I are playing together called Outbound. Now, I've been following this game from the initial Kickstarter back in April 2025 to its full release in May 2026. The best Mother's Day gift for myself and my first ever collector's edition in a physical copy!

Today we’re looking at what has rapidly become an absolute favorite in the open-world RPG genre for me. An interesting story, memorable NPCs, stunning visuals, and a setting absolutely dripping with flavor, Dread Delusion sets its tone immediately and sticks with it.
...and I have been playing NHL games since. It didn't matter whether it was EA or another game like 2K in the 2000s; I loved hockey games and still do, but is NHL 27 a step in the right direction?

LONDON, Ontario – Oct. 31, 2025 | Digital Extremes revealed further details for Warframe’s next Narrative Chapter, The Old Peace, arriving in December, during a haunted Halloween Devstream. Dark details were unearthed around The Devil’s Triad, a side story launching alongside Digital Extremes’ pinnacle Warframe update of the year. Featuring a complete narrative to discover, The Devil’s Triad introduces three new Protoframes and Gemini Skins, an expanded relationship and romance system, and a devilish new game mode: The Descendia. The studio also summoned a first look at Gyre Prime, game-changing Focus School Expansion enhancements, the Warframe on Android closed beta test for November, and teased the return of TennoCon (July 10-11, 2026).
“Much like our first set of Protoframes, we are taking a big swing with these new characters,” said Megan Everett, Community Director. “Everyone was expecting us to do something more ‘80s or 2000s themed designs and lore next for new humanoid Warframes, so naturally, we went gothic horror to keep you all on your toes. It gives us such a thrill now to see people’s reactions when they meet a new Protoframe for the first time, or when they discover who voices them, or are already planning how they want to customize their Gemini skin. We are so grateful for the community’s trust when we try something weird like this. I just hope the players are ready to make a deal with the devil to get to the bottom of what’s up with these three…”
Highlights from the October Devstream include:
Encounter The Devil’s Triad – three Protoframes bound by the dark legacy of Albrecht Entrati in The Devil’s Triad side story:
Conjure connections with Protoframes for Wisp (Marie Leroux), Harrow (Father Lyon Allard), and the newest Warframe, Uriel (Vice Regent Grand Carnus Roathe), in an expanded romance & relationships system.
Embody new cursed forms with fully voiced Gemini skins, brought to life with the voice talents of Elsa Perusin (Brawl Stars), Will de Renzy-Martin (Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake), and René Zagger (Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers / Endwalker).
Discover what lies beneath and survive The Descendia:
Venture into the depths of a twisted tower to explore an ever-changing labyrinth. Battle through 21 randomly generated floors, increasing in difficulty with each level.
Prepare for the unknown as floor layouts change weekly, except for one constant: every seventh floor promises a meeting with one of The Devil’s Triad.
Barter with each Protoframe for various cosmetic and gameplay rewards.
Collect audio transmissions to uncover the woes and hardships of the Triad to hear their full tale.
Rest in Peace: checkpoints offer a smoother return to gameplay until the next weekly reset.
Digital Extremes will share more information around the second new game mode to arrive in The Old Peace, The Perita Rebellion, in its November Devstream.
Enhance personal gameplay experiences throughout The Old Peace with larger-than-life ultimate abilities, and a brand new player profile cosmetic called Honoria (Player Titles):
Teased during TennoCon’s gameplay demo earlier this year, each Focus School will receive its own brand new Ultimate, demonstrating the crushing might of the Unairu School.
Meet with Marie Leroux (Wisp) after delving into the depths of The Descendia to unlock antique items needed to remember forgotten Focus Ultimates. More information around the rest of the Focus Expansion will be revealed in the November Devstream.
Continue to customize the social aspects of Warframe with the first-ever introduction of Honoria for player profiles and showcase in-game feats for all to see.
Embrace new visual fidelity with Gyre Prime, a graphical remaster for the Operator and Drifter, and a Voruna Deluxe Warframe skin:
Gyre, the dancing spark, will become the next Prime Warframe to recall the technological power of the Orokin Empire with an electrifying gilded design.
Trek through the Origin System’s vast cinematic questlines with the upcoming graphical remaster, featuring new character models for the Operator and Drifter. Discover next-gen enhancements, with fresh faces, remastered hair, and makeup options for customization and technical improvements to gameplay
As the promised community reward for hitting the latest Quest to Conquer Cancer charity fundraising milestone of $130,000 CAD, the development team teased the next deluxe Warframe cosmetic skin for Voruna via concept art.
Equip some lucky dice and gear up at the nearest tabletop for a collaboration between Digital Extremes and Paizo, creators of acclaimed TTRPGs Pathfinder and Starfinder:
Operation: Orias is a complete Starfinder x Warframe standalone adventure available now on Paizo’s storefront that blends the tactical sci-fi D20-based gameplay of Starfinder Second Edition with Warframe’s action-packed setting, lore, and characters.
Control one of four iconic Protoframes, Arthur (Excalibur), Aoi (Mag), Lettie (Trinity), or Amir (Volt), in a non-canonical standalone adventure designed for 4-6 hours of play.
Emerge into the new year and begin preparations for the latest IRL Warframe events and a new platform:
TennoCon, the annual record-breaking celebration of all things Warframe and Soulframe, will return to Digital Extremes’ hometown of London, Ontario, July 10-11, 2026. More details for the show will be revealed soon.
Digital Extremes will be kicking off its community world tour for 2026 to meet with fans, with TennoVIP events for Australia in Brisbane on Jan. 30, 2026, and Melbourne on Feb. 6, 2026.
Opt-in to join the closed beta test for Warframe on Android, set to welcome a select number of players to try out the new platform later in November.

Join 85+ million other players and embark on the road ahead for Warframe, starting with the full gameplay reveal of The Old Peace, the next major Quest and Narrative Chapter launching for free on all platforms this year, packaged with a new Side Story, The Devil's Triad, featuring a devil-themed Warframe and new Protoframes. Keep the stars in sight and pave the way for the 2026 Narrative Chapter, Tau, also teased in TennoCon’s finale.
Other reveals included a look at Caliban Prime Access coming soon, an untitled Fall update introducing a new player Mod tutorial Quest, The Teacher, as well as a Fall closed beta for Warframe on Android. Digital Extremes also unveiled that Warframe is arriving on the tabletop RPG scene with Warframe x Starfinder: Operation Orias in partnership with Paizo and offered another peek at the Valkyr Heirloom Collection, launching July 21.
"Ten years of TennoCon is such a mind-boggling thing to say out loud,” said Rebecca Ford, Creative Director of Warframe. “When we first started this celebration event back in 2016, we had no idea it would grow to what it is today. Our community is everything to us; we wouldn’t be here without them. To be able to continue TennoCon and bring together more players in person from around the world and treat them to the latest announcements, hijinks, and simply celebrate the world of Warframe is a privilege we don’t take for granted. The 10th TennoCon has been a deeply special, unforgettable journey. We want to thank our community to Tau and back for joining us on this monumental milestone. See you all next year!”
Notable reveals made during Digital Extremes’ annual community celebration include:
THE OLD PEACE (2025): To take hold of the future, you must awaken the past in Warframe’s next major Narrative Chapter. Revisit a period of tenuous peace between the Sentients and Orokin while uncovering notable features arriving:
Main Quest, The Old Peace: Think far back and remember the long-forgotten tale of Tau, a childhood Sentient friend named Adis, as well as the war-scarring conflict between the Orokin, their creations, and a coalition of Dax Anarch Warriors upon the Perita moon.
Side Story, The Devil's Triad: Welcome a new trio of characters – Father Lyon Allard (Protoframe of Harrow), Marie Leroux (Protoframe of Wisp), and Uriel (the new devil-themed Warframe) – in cinematic style within a Side Story, arriving alongside The Old Peace.
New Enemy Faction: Walk a fragile line during a tumultuous moment of harmony and discover who is friend and foe. What starts as a rebellion of Dax Anarchs could cause alliances to cascade and put into question how deep this Old Peace really went.
Operator Remaster: Gaze upon the Operator’s graphically remastered character models and cosmetic assets to improve their visual fidelity, including new facial animations, and aligning with Warframe’s latest assets. TennoCon attendees caught the first glimpse of this remaster in The Old Peace gameplay reveal.

Original Song Released Today: Remember the sorrow of our forgotten Sentient childhood friend, Adis, with his heartfelt song, 'Lullaby of the Manifold,' now on YouTube. This somber, hauntingly beautiful track was first heard in The Old Peace gameplay reveal and will be available on most major music streaming platforms on July 21.
VALKYR HEIRLOOM COSMETIC (JULY 21, 2025): Valkyr, the tormented experiment, aims to make witnesses go berserk hot off the heels of her recent gameplay rework with a new Heirloom Collection available July 21 in collaboration with community artist Pertti Bahaa.

LONDON, ONTARIO – July 19, 2025 | Digital Extremes held its latest Soulframe Devstream live from its 10th annual TennoCon. The development team behind the upcoming free-to-play fantasy action RPG revealed some details about Soulframe.
Additional reveals included a full look at the Bromius Omen Beast boss fight, a new enemy named Wazzard of Wastes, and the hazardous Neath’uns underbelly. The team also highlighted plans for enhanced character customization and a vision for what combat progression will look like in future Preludes updates.
“Over a year now of players going hands-on with Soulframe in our Preludes pre-alpha builds, we’ve learned so many lessons and built a lot of new features for us as a studio,” said Geoff Crookes, Creative Director of Soulframe. “After last TennoCon, we put a huge amount of effort into improving combat fluidity and continued that passionate work into exploring brand new features like player social hubs, asynchronous player messaging with World Trees, among so many other additions. Today, we shared what the latest additions to our next Preludes build would be and beyond. We promise to all existing and future players to keep trying new things outside our comfort zone and work with you to create something we’ve all been looking for.”
SOULFRAME ACCESS FOR ALL: Digital Extremes invites all players interested in the game to join its growing community. Create an account at Soulframe.com by July 20 at 11:59 p.m. ET to secure an Envoy name and explore all content and adventures Soulframe Preludes currently has to offer. Players can continue to access Soulframe Preludes until the game’s full public launch. Once the open sign-up window has closed, players may still sign up, but will wait in the sign-up queue until additional access is available.
NEW ENEMY, WAZZARD OF WASTES: Seek out the source of the rot within the heart of the Galvinar swamp, the Wazzard of Wastes. Today’s gameplay demo showcased this magical mini-boss with a fresh look at Magick-focused combat, featuring a fresh parry feature capable of reflecting projectiles back at the tainted thaumaturge.
BROMIUS BOSS FIGHT / NEATH’UNS ENVIRONMENT: After its initial tease, TennoCon attendees and viewers were treated to the next Omen Beast boss fight: Bromius. Explore the Neath’uns underground full of corrupted Sproutfolk and environmental puzzles hindering the rehabilitation of the mutated three-headed Bromius from sinister whispers within the dark, tainted sap.
CHARACTER HAIR CUSTOMIZATION: The first set of hairstyles available for players to customize their Envoy was showcased by the development team. Eight different hairstyle cosmetics are in production, with additional customizations for Envoys to emblazon themselves still to come.
CUSTOMIZED COMBAT PROGRESSION: Inspired by historical medieval martial arts manuals, the Soulframe team shared a stylistic and customizable approach to skill progression and combat techniques to suit individual playstyle preferences. Viable offensive and defensive build options can be mixed and matched from close-range melee focused on creating space with dodges, ranged damage that can close the gap with timed parries, to more supportive roles, and other combinations.
This progression approach allows individuals to tailor their Envoy’s strengths to their preferred playstyle and becomes additive to situational party composition makeups when playing with others cooperatively across a variety of encounters.
Soulframe® is an upcoming free-to-play open-world fantasy adventure from Digital Extremes and the imaginative minds behind the genre-defining Warframe®. Heavily influenced by themes of nature and restoration, Soulframe® promises a personal journey of discovery through a handcrafted world. Explore an ancient, broken land and inherit the courage, spirit, and grace of Ancestors to mend earthly flesh and heal its land from Ode’n reign. Players can sign up on the official game website for a chance to play an early test build of the game. For more information about Soulframe®, please visit: www.soulframe.com.

We at Chalgyr Games Room hope that your Canada Day celebrations were as awesome as our Canadian reviewers and news editor's were. So much so, that we were late in posting our Happy Canada Day wishes!
With that in mind, we thought we'd do something different this year. Below is a small collection of some great Canadian Video Games and Studios to check out. Starting with a couple of indie companies, we went looking for titles that might interest our audience. Of course, this is not a complete list, but it has awesome games to play if you haven't dipped your toes into the great white north!
Indie Studios
- Max Inferno studios is based out of Nova Scotia, Canada. It is comprised of two people Annie Macmillan and Lukas Steinman who wanted to make unique games from GMTKJam 2020. While they only have one title to their name, A Little to the Left, I'm sure we'll see more interesting and creative works moving forwards. https://www.maxinferno.com
- One of our favourite game studios is called Capybara Games. An award winning studio based in Toronto, Canada, they are known for some unique titles that can be played on a variety of platforms like PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo. Some of these titles include Battle Vision Network, Grindstone, Don't Starve: Shipwrecked, and Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes!
- Based in Toronto Ontario is Massive Damage Games who has a motto of "Indie Spirit with Big Vision." The team consists of indie all stars and AAA veterans alike to build innovative games. Currently, the team has three titles beginning with an upcoming RPG titled Fera: The Sundered Tribes. If you're looking for a different style of RPG, look no further than a tactical roguelite one called Star Renegades, or perhaps a strategy RPG with base building elements is more your speed. If so, check out Halcyon6. All three titles are available on Steam!
- This list wouldn't be complete without Phoenix Labs, who has studios in both Vancouver, British Columbia and Montreal, Quebec. This company may be a familiar name because it has a couple of titles that we personally have played. Those titles are Faefarm and Dauntless! While Faefarm is a cozy farming sim that can be played solo or cooperatively (up to four players), Dauntless is a monster hunter style of game that is completely free to play.
Larger Studios
- BeHaviour Interactive was founded in 1992 and has become one of Canada's largest independent game developer/publisher. Their studios are located in a variety of locations but the ones in Canada are in Montreal, Quebec and Toronto, Ontario. You may know them because of their hit game Dead by Daylight which has more than 60 million players across all platforms. Take a look at their website here to see what else they have to play.
- Vancouver, British Columbia has another large studio that goes by the name of Klei Entertainment. Sound familiar? It should! They are the developers responsible for titles like Don't Starve, Griftlands, and Oxygen Not Included. These hit games are well received in the indie gaming scene. I, for one, love Oxygen Not Included even if I'm terrible at it. Check them out on Steam since Klei is having an epic Publisher Sale RIGHT NOW!
- The final studio on this short list of Canadian Developers is none other than Digital Extremes based out of London, Ontario. You may know them because they are the ones responsible for the hit free to play looter shooter Warframe. It is a game that persisted over many years and it keeps improving as time continues. I'm personally a Volt Prime main, but there are lots of other frames to try and places to explore. Don't miss out on all the epic content. Besides, you can't lose given that the game is free to play! Check out Warframe on Steam today.
LONDON, Ontario - Feb. 23, 2024 - Dante, Digital Extremes’ 56th Warframe, received a full ability showcase in its monthly Devstream today
alongside a new mission type reveal, and more specifics for Warframe
Inaros’ rework, among other quality-of-life improvements. Kicking off
celebrations for Warframe’s 11th Anniversary, the dev team also detailed plans to celebrate
in-person at PAX East next month.
Highlights from the stream include:
Warframe Dante, the master of reality’s pages, summons his own Exalted Weapon, the devastating Tome called Noctua, to replace any currently equipped
secondary weapon. Cast Light or Dark Verses to increase allies’ max health or draw blood-slashing needles to
inflict Slash Damage on nearby enemies. Inspired by classic MMO casters, the pattern of abilities used changes
the spell combo’s ultimate finishing ability, Final Verse; either granting allies their own limited run copies of Noctua or summoning Paragrimms, giant owl-like creatures, to fight alongside
you.
Dive into Deep Archimedea, the latest mission type. This is an amalgamation of three different existing mission types
that must be played in succession with no breaks. The composition of Deep
Archimedea will change every week, offering endless new challenges to
overcome for some of the best in-game rewards to date.
Seek out the new Murmur faction enemy, greedy loot goblin Gruzzling, to steal its bountiful bundle of goodies ripe for your taking. Fresh
weapons will also be available to grab in the Entrati Disruption mission,
ARMATUS: the melee fist weapon, Ruvox, and the secondary arm-cannon, Onos.
The living sandstorm Warframe, Inaros, dusts off a fresh rework to obtain a more engaging passive ability, guaranteed status effect
triggers, and overall changes to his base kit. Notable changes include
separating the Scarab Armor mechanic into its own ability, replacing Devour with an improved Sandstorm touting faster summoning and movement speeds, and, most notably, granting
the Scarab Swarm ultimate a chance to summon sandy friendlies into the fray.
Come join the next Devstream in-person at PAX East to meet the dev team
as well as the lead voice of Arthur in the upcoming Warframe: 1999, Ben Starr (Final Fantasy XVI). The PAX Edition Devstream will air live on both PAX and Warframe Twitch channels on Friday, March 22 at 3 p.m. ET. There will be more major announcements to look forward to
celebrating 11 years of Warframe, including what comes next for the game’s story before things kick back
all the way to the ‘90s later this year.
“It's been over five years since we went to a PAX!” said Megan Everett,
Community Director. “Celebrating our 11th Anniversary there feels like the
perfect way to reconnect with our Tenno again in-person. We are bringing
tons of Dante and 1999 info nuggets to share at our panel and great vibes for our
sold-out TennoVIP community event.”
For more information and future patch notes on all of the changes planned
for the Dante Unbound Update in March 2024, please keep an eye
on our official news pages, Twitter/X, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitch accounts.

We here at Chalgyr's Game Room are pretty big fans of roleplaying games; those could be instant classics like Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, obscure indies like Last Dream, punishing AAA titles like Dark Souls III, or the godfather of roleplaying ... Dungeons & Dragons. We love them all so when a developer takes a few of the things that we love in our roleplaying games and squeezes them into one working package, we tend to get excited. Enter Sword Coast Legends; originally released on the PC back in 2015, the dungeon-mastering-tool-with-some-campaigns-premade is now available on the PlayStation 4 and we are all the better for it.
Sword Coast Legends struggles with identity; at times it feels like a solid dungeon master tool and campaign creation kit, others it feels like a decidedly mediocre Dungeons & Dragons single player experiences. When looking at Sword Coast Legends solely as a game it lacks character, however if you look at it as a creation kit, Sword Coast Legends brings out the creative dungeon master in me and drudges up memories of hours spent in Neverwinter's creation tools. This is not a bad thing.
