The Age of Decadence - PC Review
In a rare and welcome twist for the roleplaying genre, The Age of Decadence throws you into a low-fantasy, ancient/medieval Greek-inspired post-apocalyptic world. You will traverse the land in brutal turn-based combat with naught but your wit and skill. Challenging, brooding, and genuinely fun, The Age of Decadence sidesteps the world of magic for a world of intrigue and survival.
Memorable Music in Gaming #13
November 06, 2015Dovakhiin Song, Green Hill Zone, Lavender Town, Memorable Music in Gaming, My Heaven, Pokemon Blue, Pokemon Red, Pokemon Ruby, Pokemon Sapphire, Silent Hill, skyrim, Sonc the Hedgehog, The Drought
It has been a few weeks since we posted one of these. The series, like the music we reflect upon, might not always be right there in front of us - but it also will not be forgotten. This week's selection hails from a variety of genres and systems, though there is certainly a Pokemon theme to start with.
Nights of Azure is getting a western release
It is great to see even more titles from Koei Tecmo getting Western localizations, and this is absolutely one we will be keeping an eye on gong forward.
SUPERBEAT: XONiC - PS Vita Review
November 05, 2015atlus, Nurijoy, PM Studios Inc., PS Vita, review, Sony PlayStation Vita, SUPERBEAT: XONiC
The DJ Max games helped to put Nurijoy on the map with rhythm fans in the past, and SUPERBEAT: XONiC is an enjoyable addition to the genre. Everything from the fun songs to the colorful visuals that create an experience that is immediately familiar, but still fresh enough to be entertaining.
MAGIX Music Maker 2016 - PC Review
It's that time of the year, Chri- ahem, I mean... - time for MAGIX Music Maker 2016! The new iteration of Music Maker includes a lot of performance upgrades, a slew of new features, and of course, new sample packs are included to make music for your personal projects.
Tekken 7 can't get here soon enough - but it is coming to consoles
Yesterday night, I was briefly reminiscing on Street Fighter, since it is one of my longest-running fighting franchises. For all of the memories I have associated with that series, Tekken has stood out as my favorite fighting series ever since I had a chance to play the first one on PlayStation. Tekken 7 has some big expectations to live up to - but I think they'll pull it off.
Norn9: Var Commons - PS Vita Review
The recent deluge of visual novels has me very excited. It is not necessarily one of my favorite genres, but it has been so under represented here in the west for far too long. Norn 9: Var Commons was actually a PSP title that never made its way over here, but now it finds new life on the PlayStation Vita, and the game works wonderfully.
Crimsonland - Xbox One Review
Crimsonland is a wonderful tale friendship and camaraderie over adversity. Sitting either alone or with friends in a wide open space engage in dialog with a variety of Alien races to Zombies wanting nothing more than to engage in cuddles in this cold landscape in order to keep warm. Using a simple narrative that speaks volumes depending upon the choice of dialog, prepare your trigger fingers because the only language understood out in the middle of this barren landscape is good old fashioned lead used in order to paint the ground red with the blood of your enemies before they devour you in this quick paced Twin-Stick Shooter from 10tons.
Release date, new fighter and more for Street Fighter V
Street Fighter is just one of those games that I follow every year when there is any new news about it. Given that part five is coming out sooner than later, I am admittedly getting pretty stoked. There were some pretty good bits in this announcement.
Expand - PC Review
I would describe Expand in a handful of words. Pleasant. Unique. Challenging. There is not much to look at when it comes to this title, but there is substance beneath its simple exterior.
Castlevania: Curse of Darkness - Retro Reflections
Castlevania: Curse of Darkness is a member of a long line of games that started on Nintendo Entertainment System during the eighties. The hero was an intrepid hunter of supernatural threats who set off to find and defeat Dracula. These games, combining hack’n’slash action with platform negotiation and exploration, were loved by many people; unfortunately I haven’t tried any of them. Besides Curse of Darkness, the only Castlevania game I have played is Chronicles on PlayStation.

Crimson Peak - Movie Review
November 02, 2015Charlie Hunnam, Crimson Peak, Guillermo del Toro, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska, Movie Review, Tom Hiddleston
“Crimson Peak” is a story with ghosts, not a ghost story; that’s what Edith, the heroine, said when asked about the book she was writing, in a smart self-reference of the movie. The ghosts serve as a metaphor for the past. It is true that one of the subjects here is how the past can become a trap, where we sink more and more until we can longer get out of it, the same way the house on top of the crimson peak was submerged little by little in the red mineral that spread under the earth surface.
