The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind - Retro Reflections
January 09, 2015Bethesda Game Studios, Bethesda Softworks, Retro Reflections, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
When I started playing Morrowind I was impressed by the magnitude of its world. However, several problems prevented it from being a fully satisfying experience.
Forza Horizon 2 - Xbox One Review
The original Forza Horizon was a departure from the atypical Forza formula in that it was an open-world racer rather than a circuit-based simulator that is the Forza Motorsport line. I recently reviewed Forza Motorsport 5 for the Xbox One and was absolutely thrilled with the quality of the game so Forza Horizon 2 had a lot to live up to. Forza Horizon for the Xbox 360 was a wonderful game that I spent dozens upon dozens of hours playing, buying up cars, dominating the street races, circuits, and other race types (the first time I raced against a plane in a Showcase event I was absolutely thrilled). Now with more power than ever before, Forza Horizon 2 makes its debut on the Xbox One with significantly updated graphics, an utterly massive open world, and more races and events than ever.
Fallout - Retro Reflections
If you look at Fallout you see a 2-d game with mediocre graphics, simple sound and slow action. However, if you start playing it you discover how ingenious it is.
The story involves a bold person who gets out of an underground shelter after a nuclear holocaust devastated the United States and must find an item essential for the survival of his vault. During your travels you will meet many violent fellows, such as slave traders or gangsters, but you also cross relatively peaceful settlements, where people struggle to recreate civilization. Many dangers await you in the desert and some of them are even worse than giant scorpions or groups of marauders.

Fantasy Hero: Unsigned Legacy - Vita Review
January 07, 2015Arc System Works, Fantasy Hero: Unsigned Legacy, PS Vita Review, Sony PlayStation Vita
Fantasy Hero: Unsigned Legacy is an action-RPG for perhaps one of, if not the best consoles for the genre, the PlayStation Vita. Over the last few years the Vita has seen a multitude of RPG games that really show off the power, scope, and popularity of not only these types of games, but the console itself. For many years the Vita has been Sony's forgotten child, getting only scraps here and there, and as time went on, more and more developers recognized the power and capability of the Vita and we have had excellent titles such as Tales of Hearts R, Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment, Persona 4 Golden, Demon Gaze, and Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten. Looking to join the list of RPG greats on the Vita, Fantasy Hero takes place in a world that was once peacefully but has now been overrun by monsters known as "Decoders." Living on in this crumbling world in small havens of humanity has been the norm until a handful of brave warriors make a stand to return peace to the world.
Neverwinter Nights - Retro Reflections
Neverwinter Nights is not a game you will show your friends to impress them. It’s old and its graphics look very poor compared to those of modern productions. However, it is a fine choice if you want to be immersed in a world where strange creatures, mystical forests and long forgotten treasures await the intrepid adventurer.
Etherium's first gameplay video is here
We like space, science fiction and things that explode around here. With this in mind, it sure looks like the upcoming title Etherium from Tindalos Interactive may be right up our alley.
Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon - PC Review
January 06, 2015Flashback Games, Slitherine Ltd, The Lordz Games Studio, Warhammer 40 000: Armageddon
I have been a Warhammer 40,000 fan since the mid-90's where I picked up two boxes of Space Marine, a box of Cadian Shock Troop, and a box of Catachan Jungle Fighter miniatures in an attempt to build a small wargaming diorama. I had a few friends that played the table-top wargame and had been watching them play for quite some time and decided to give it a try (as my D&D group was rapidly dissolving). For a number of years I had a wonderfully maintained Tau army that I would play with, but eventually moved away from the wargaming due to rising costs.
Paperbound - PC Preview
There are some things in life that can be described in one word which can encompass it entirely without the need to say anything more. A few of us took Paperbound for a spin the other night, and it should be known that a good portion of us have been playing beat em ups like Smash Brothers for years and have gotten pretty good at it. I don't think much could have prepared us for what we experienced. And so, with this being said, Paperbound in one word that was said rather collectively.
Idea Factory has some titles announced for Steam
It is great seeing more some of our favorite Idea Factory titles getting Steam release announcements!
Mythos: The Beginning - PC Review
Mythos is a dark and scary indie RPG that repeatedly made me jump, yelp, and possibly scream like a little girl once or twice too many. Surprisingly? Kept going back for more! It was that good. Players start off by choosing one of three different classes to create their character which will set them up on a collision course with Harborough Asylum, a location with a dark and mysterious past where more than a few people have disappeared over the years.
MAGIX Fastcut - PC Review
This was definitely a different experience for me. For all of my graphic design I never ventured into an actual video editing software. I use a generous portion of the adobe suite on my free time but the idea of making a movie never really occurred to me until Nick asked me one day if I would be willing to give one a shot. I figured why not? New experiences are always something to be sought after.
