The more I see of the 2.5 ReMix, the more excited I am for this upcoming release. Square Enix has given us a bit more information and more importantly, an all new trailer.
Grim Dawn - PC Preview
Oh Early Access games, how I love thee. My awesome EIC is letting me write this one up as I’ve been playing it for a while now. I came across Grim Dawn while looking for a Hack and Slash RPG to play while waiting for Van Helsing 2 to release to play with my awesome Player 2. I jumped on Grim Dawn after reading through the various features that it already had and set out on my single player quest. So far? No regrets.
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor - PS4 Review
Sometimes a game just clicks early on. As a huge fan of the universe this game is set in, I was already biased in favor of what I hoped would be an engaging plot and richly detailed world. Turns out the story was only decent and the game itself gets to shine through with engaging combat, an open world to explore and outstanding presentation values.
Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms has seen a massive update
Pierre-Yves took a look at Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms some time ago in this preview, and generally enjoyed the game. There was however, some room for improvement, and this latest update will perhaps cover some of those areas.
openCanvas 6 - PC Review
Periodically we will come across a piece of software that really intrigues one of us; in some cases it could be something game-oriented like FPS Creator Reloaded or RPG Maker VX Ace. While those two pieces are geared towards gaming we will occasionally see something that is a bit apart from gaming in general such as MAGIX Music Maker 2014 Pro. While not directly related to gaming, some applications can be tied to gaming in a roundabout way and that is the case with openCanvas 6 by PGN Inc.
Dark Souls II: Crown of the Ivory King - Xbox 360 DLC Review
Game of the year?
That is up for debate (like most things), but Dark Souls II has certainly earned a place on our team as one of the best of 2014. The DLC to date has been an outstanding expansion on the base game, giving me a reason to go back in and die (over and over) again. This latest DLC, the Crown of the Ivory King, is visually a huge departure from what we have come to expect so far. The battles themselves feel just a bit more familiar than I would like, but this is a fantastic send-off to fans of Dark Souls II.

Minimum - PC Review
Indie game development can be a lot like a stew, designers throwing genre tropes into a pot to see what tasty treat they can concoct. Sometimes the flavors don’t work right, and what comes out is an unpalatable mess. Other times, ingredients not thought of as complementary can come together in a way where they can mask each others shortcomings, and create a simple and satisfying result. Minimum, from developer Human Head Studios, is a team based third-person shooter that borrows a variety of elements from wildly different games and packs them all into a fast paced package. But is it too soon to ring the dinner bell?
Supreme Ruler Ultimate - PC Preview
There are a lot of war simulation games out there. Some of them have spawned several in a series. BattleGoat Studios has made the claim that Supreme Ruler Ultimate is the culmination of fourteen years of experience working on Supreme Ruler titles. Having had a chance to play the Early Access for a time now, I can say that it shows, with an already very polished game that has a ton of replay potential.
Pandora: Eclipse of Nashira - PC DLC Review
Pandora: First Contact was a title that released a little while back to somewhat mixed reviews, though we enjoyed it a great deal. The fantastical setting on a far away planet with some heavy science fiction themes worked nicely with the colorful graphics to create an experience that was easy to lose myself in. There were a few problems, but the newest DLC, Eclipse of Nashira, does a nice job of touching on many of those shortcomings to create a well-rounded experience.
Arcana Heart 3: LOVEMAX!!!!! - PS3 Review
For fighting fans, there is actually quite a bit to like about Arcana Heart 3, despite an awkward title and lackluster story. Combat is the name of the game, and here it is a solid 2D fighter with smooth, responsive controls and a large cast of diversely designed characters.
Black the Fall is on Kickstarter now
Black the Fall was an interesting title that I got to preview some time ago. I enjoyed the general direction, but it had a lot of growing to do still. A recently announced Kickstarter campaign for it should help accelerate that process.
