Games of August 2016

It’s that time again!

The month of August is looking like a good one with Attack on Titan, Deus Ex, God Eater, and the newest World of Warcraft expansion for those hardcore MMO players that are still playing it after all these years!

And with that, the games!

Tuesday August 2nd

ABZU - PS4, PC

Dive into the depths of the ocean and explore this beautiful looking game.

"ABZÛ is an epic descent into the depths of the sea, where players will explore beautifully rendered ocean environments with fluid swimming controls. The experience draws inspiration from the deep innate narrative that we all carry within our subconscious: the story of ABZÛ is a universal myth that resonates across cultures. The name references a concept from the oldest mythologies; it is the combination of the two ancient words AB, meaning ocean, and ZÛ, meaning to know. ABZÛ is the ocean of wisdom."

Gal*Gun: Double Peace - PS4, Vita

So um... this is probably one of the crazier titles this month which says some things condering the lineup. I'll just leave the video below and the link to their website above!

Tuesday August 9th

No Man's Sky - PS4, PC

Prepare for the empyting of offices into the vast expanses of space. Seriously don't be surprised if no one shows up to work for a few days.

No Man's Sky is ambitious and I hope it holds to its promises!

Friday August 12th

XBlaze Lost: Memories - PC

The next chapter is hitting the PC! Check out our Vita Review and our Vita and PC reviews of the previous chapter!

Monday August 15th

Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars - PC

I am very guitly of not having played this titlte yet. I've had it on the Vita since release but it has unfortunately graced my backlog since. Like a lot of other great RPGs however this one too is launching on the PC to bring it to more than just the 3DS and Vita populations.

Friday August 19th

Formula 1 2016 - PS4, XB1, PC

Last month saw a lot of off track and destruction in the auto world. This month? Pure fast paced racing.

Metroid Prime: Federation Force - 3DS

So this is a bit of a weird one... a Metroid that has nothing to do with Samus?

" The war between the Galactic Federation and the Space Pirates is far from over. Enlist with the Federation Force to join a four-player* local or online** squad in this co-op sci-fi shooter. Fight alongside teammates in your specialized Mech to eliminate the Space Pirate menace and any threat that stands in your way.

Make it a solitary mission or join 3 friends* for increased firepower and deeper strategies. In each mission, you'll choose your role on the team by selecting from different subweapons and MODs to customize your Mech and maximize your chance of survival. Whether you focus on healing allies or increasing your arsenal, your greatest asset is teamwork. Work together, tackle missions, take down bosses, and defeat hostile creatures as one powerful unit. The dangerous Metroid™ universe is now at your mercy. Honor your vow to protect it and fight back...before there's nothing left to fight for. The next chapter in the Metroid Prime™ saga is here."

Style Savvy: Fashion Forward - 3DS

This is something a little different from the rest on the list. Become a fashion designer through a variety of carriers.

Tuesday August 23rd

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - PS4, XB1, PC

Deus Ex especially after it's previous entry needs no introduction. Mankind is now divded between the pure humans and those with augmentations. Dive back into the future with Adam Jensen who, not by choice was augmented like there was no tomorrow in order to take revenge on those that broke his once human body. Like his past trial, how things play out are up to you.

Madden NFL 17 - PS3, PS4, 360, XB1

So we've most likely pretty much lost our Editor and Cheif on this one. I'll take this oppertunity to usurp his throne and claim the site for my own! mwahahahaha

Madden NFL 17 sees the return of American Football to the consoles. Not sure how much longer these will be released on the previous generation but it's nice to see that they are still doing it.

The King of Fighters XIV - PS4

Do you have what it takes to be the King of Fighters? Enter the XIV tournament.

Worms W.M.D. All Stars - PS4, XB1

The worms are back for more death and desruction!

That's all that needs to be said. I love this series with it's epic crazy gameplay style of literal, death and destruction upon your enemies.

Monday August 29th

World of Warcraft: Legion - PC

The newest of the expansions is finally here. So on top of losing my Editor and Chief to Madden, I'll be losing my brother once again to WoW. There goes any coop...

Tuesday August 30th

Assetto Corsa - PS4, XB1

If Formula F1 is not your style then perhaps a bit of different track racing is what you need.

"Precision and perfection are at the core of Kunos Simulazioni’s pedigree; first of all in creating software models for numerous motorsports Marques, and now in bringing their ground-breaking racing simulation, Assetto Corsa, to home consoles. Deservedly positioned as “Your Racing Simulator,” Assetto Corsa ups the simulation stakes with a fanatical focus on pure driving realism, with laser-focused accuracy across every aspect of the game from the meticulous car handling to the laser-measured tracks."

Attack on Titan - PS4, XB1

It's finally here. Been wanting to know how well you would perform with that manuvering gear? Now's your chance! Omega Force's Attack on Titan is almost a reverse Musou with there being more of you than them. Can you take out the Titans? I hope that I can...

Corpse Party - Back to School Edition - 3DS

Nick and Chris H. are both fans of the series and it's back once again to the 3DS.

"Remastered from the 2011 PSP game, the Nintendo 3DS rendition of Corpse Party will feature redrawn, high-resolution character sprites, newly arranged music tracks, and 3D art stills, as well as four new Extra Chapters exclusive to this version that provide insight into lesser-shown characters and plot elements previously left unexplained."

God Eater 2: Rage Burst - PS4, PC

Having recently watched the anime I've gotten a good idea of what the world of God Eater has to offer. Like Monster Hunter (Generations / 4 Ultimate), Soul Sacrifice, and Toukiden (Vita / PS4 / PC), the God Eater series also offers a similar experience in which missions are selected and players take to the field in order to battle monsters of enourmous proportions. Needless to say, we are fans of the genre.

Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X - PS4, Vita

Vocaloids are huge over in Japan and have fans around the globe. Join Miku and others with this rythem action later this month on the PS4 and Vita

Resident Evil 4 HD - PS4, XB1

Last month saw Resident Evil 5 hit the HD status. This month go back by one to one of the best in the series with the return of Leon as he attempts to rescue the President of the United State's daughter.

If you really need to know why he's up to the task? It's because his fee is just way too good.

TumbleStone - PS4, XB1

Lastly this month we have... reverse Tetris meets Bejewled? Interesting looking concept.
