Gaming Deals on 5/2/12

Just a quick post listing out a handful of the gaming deals out there as of the middle of this week.  I'll lead off with the somewhat disappointing showing by Xbox Live Gold - they have the Battlefield 3 expansion discounted.  Not a bad deal I guess in and of itself, but seeing as I have the game for PS 3 and haven't seen a Gold deal I've liked in over a month, I'm a bit disappointed by this one too.

Steam has Bastion for 60% off on its Midweek Madness, placing it at a pretty solid $5.99.  Their daily deal still has about 4 1/2 hours left on it as of writing this, called Crazy Machines Complete Pack - half off, so $24.99.  It's also worth noting that I have been hearing good things about the Warlock: Master of the Arcane demo, and that my site's been seeing a fair number of hits off from people looking that one up.  One blog I follow said it was like Civ meeting fantasy/Dungeons & Dragons.  Not a bad combination to aspire for in my opinion.  At $20, I may be looking at that one when it comes out May 8th.

Amazon's "Today's Deals" haven't been daily in awhile, but they have weekly ones still and this week features:

Sonic Generations for the PS3 and 360 at $21.70 (57% off)
White Knight Chronicles II for the PS3 at $23.69 (21% off)
Lego Pirates of the Caribbean for the 3DS at $11.99 (so 60% off)
Triton Primer Wireless headset for the 360 at $75.99 (25% off)

GamersGate's steepest markdown right now looks to be Alpha Protocol at 80% as they feature a Sega Week.

Best Buy's Deal of the Day includes Just Dance 3 Katy Perry Edition for the Wii for $13.99 (so 65% off)

Also of note there is still the Botanicula Humble Bundle and the current Indie Gala.

And lastly... PlayStation Plus perks to kick off the month (these are pretty nice):
  • Awesomenauts (PSN, Free)
  • Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (Retail, Full Game Trial)
  • Castlevania Chronicles (PSone, Free)
  • Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PSone, Free)

  • Floating Cloud God Saves the Pilgrims (Mini, Free)
  • PixelJunk 4am Closed Viewer (PSN, Beta)

  1. Thanks for taking the time to put together this list! I should get set up with a Playstation Plus account, the free games sound like a lot of fun. I admit I rushed to Amazon as soon as I read Sonic Generations for $1.70, but I quickly found out it was a typo. Oh well, maybe a few more months and it will be at that price.

  2. What a different a "2" makes, eh Rob? Good catch - corrected that one!

And yeah, I really have found the PlayStation Plus to be a pretty good deal. I think you can still grab Shank 2 from last month as well (I'm not 100% sure though since I already had grabbed it). It beats up my hard drive space a bit, but that's a good thing overall.

Thanks for dropping by and commenting!
